As much as I'd like to debate political subjects, I don't think this would be the best place for it, lol. Plus, I'm kinda busy with life in general, so I would rather spend my free time doing something less strenuous. :V
Agreed Munson. I think that if there's absolutely any alternative to abortion then it should be pursued instead. And to those who say that if abortion is illegal people will hurt themselves doing it:
Cocaine is illegal and people hurt themselves with that as well. Do we make it legal because of that? No.
Abortions, it's basically like murder. Those assholes who do get abortions can rot for all I care. I don't know much detail about it but seriously, I can cry for those unborn who had their mothers reject them.
Salvation.
I don't mind explaining my view at all. I am religious and I simply think killing unborn babies is morally wrong. My view on the subject is fairly moderate: I think that the baby has a right to life in every circumstance except in the case of rape, incest, or when an abortion is necessary to save the life of the mother.
That's an abridged version of what I think about abortion since the character limit on these posts is ridiculously short and compromises adequate expression of thought.
well I'm not a woman so it's none of my business...
In truth I don't give a damn about what other people choose to do, because apparently Californians like myself are very liberal. To each his own.
Well, if I was honest. I also don't give a damn about what people do. Unless of course they delete someone else's life whom is close. Then I have a problem or two.
MikuWaifu to be honest murder itself isn't morally wrong. The only reason we think murder is wrong is because of its consequences I.e. the loss of that person, the sorrow that follows. But if abortion can be called murder, it's a murder that isn't morally wrong. The only person it really affects is the mother and it's their choice...
And MikuWaifu I really think you're an asshole for the answer you gave, given that you're not a woman and you've never been pregnant (that I know of). Who are you to say what these women can and can't do with their bodies? Onepunchmeme, I agree dude. And Munson, while I don't agree with you, thanks for not being an asshole about it.
Skull, from a scientific point of view, at some point an embryo has consciousness. This consciousness is what could be called the beginning of a human life. Except in cases in which such like de would cost the life of another, exterminating such life is quite literally murder or manslaughter: taking ones life that should not have been taken. Also, think about the great potential that unborn children have.
They could cure cancer. Don't call someone names for their beliefs: it makes you seem idiotic and as if uo have no evidence with which to back yours. You sink to the level of the politicians you despise when you do so.
You're saying abortion should be illegal because these babies could do something great with their lives? That's a really stupid argument, I'm sorry. And there's no need to insult me for my views. The only reason I don't have evidence is because of this goddamn character limit that doesn't give me much room. And you've just casually glossed over the fact that I didn't start the name-calling...
And did you not read what I said above about murder not being morally wrong? By the way, if you realllyyyy want to have this debate, PM me, I'd be glad to continue it. The character limit is killing me. Anyway, given current overpopulation problems, I don't really give a damn if a mother "murders" her unborn child and neither should you. It's her goddamn choice.
Guys, we're better than this. Honestly, 90% of the people I've met on Brawl are way more reasonable than people twice their age when it comes to political issues. Since we're on the topic, however, I'll add my two cents in without being an idiot about it. Being a jerk about it isn't going to change anyone's minds about the issue. It only makes the people who think differently than you dislike your opinion even more.
Anyways, I'm pro-life. I highly dislike the idea of abortion, but I can understand why people are pro-choice. People need to stop viewing others who differ from each other in opinion as evil.
People can be mistaken, yes, but they are not the cruel inhuman beings the media would have us believe they are. People's intentions are usually good when it comes to issues like these, so it's a matter of dislike the act, but not the people who believe in it.
Anyways, I believe that human life begins at conception. I also hold human life in a very high regard. Not because of what the unborn children have the potential to become, but because they possess an intrinsic value from simply being human.
Of course, this is very belief based, but it truly cannot be anything else due to the fact that we can't really know for certain what counts as a human. People can try to define it, but I don't think that it can be truly defined. This is at the very root of the conflict.
Nimai... You don't even understand what abortion is about... Please don't go talking about a subject you have no knowledge of. The whole point of abortion is for mothers who don't want or can't afford a pregnancy.
From a legal standpoint, if life begins at conception, abortion violates the human rights of the baby, and therefore, by law, should be illegal. I would rather play things safe and error on the side of mercy (for the child's sake) than assume that life does not begin at conception.
We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness; ...
Anyways, one of the objections to pro-life is in the case of rape or death to the parent (and thus both parent and child). In the case of rape, I still have to side in favor of pro-life. From my point of view, a life lost (even a potential life) + rape is worse than simple rape.
Some if you might not live in the U.S. but... well I doesn't this sort of make it seem like abortion should be illegal? "life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness..."
I view abortion as wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right. I can definitely understand if people see differently to me on this one. It's an extreme example, and one very difficult to resolve.
