Idea Pearl Harbor

Great idea, I would definitely love playing on another WW2 map.

 

Good concept, but it could be offensive to some people. D:

Pearl harbor wasn't a battle. It was a terrorist attack. :V

 

Err...the Japanese don't ride Spitfires. That was the British. Just sayin'. Anyway I like the idea.

 

Since you wanna be specific and ****.

The japanese attacked pearl harbor to warn the US not to interfere with Japanese Imperial actions. It wasn't defense, it was a warning. They were warning us if we interfered with them in their war they would attack us. And the americans decided to interfere with the war. :v

 

sounds cool, just a one (*cough cough* loads *cough*) thing. one, the U.S had no carriers within 100 miles when japan raided pearl harbour, all 4 carriers were having repairs or on training missions. and two the Americans only had 1 type of fighter in pearl harbour and no planes (maybe a very few) managed to take off and challenge the Japanese zeros (spitfires were British!)
sorry to have to correct a few historical mistakes, the only reason why the Japanese had lost the war was because they DID NOT sink the U.S carriers (with is a very good thing)

Well! If the Americans lost all their carriers the Japanese would of taken control of the seas before the nukes were even done. Also the plane that dropped the bomb had to take off from an island near to japan and capturing that island would of been impossible if the American carriers had been sunk at pearl.

Also the people who have been talking about why the Japanese raided pearl was because they knew that if they got into a long lasting war with America and Britain they would have probably been crushed (which they were). So they planned to hit main points that would effect the allies war effort almost instantly, like Pearl Harbor, Darwin etc. so the attacks on normal people living normal lives was completely unjustified and inhuman.

The big turning point in the war was at Midway (1943) and if the U.S had no aircraft carriers then the battle would of been lost and the war itself could of been lost because of the Japanese would of got in bombing distance of mainland America. Meaning the war would of been effectively lost. So it was not just the nuke that won the war but it was the carriers that got it there and helped deliver it!

The idea of a pearl harbor map is a really good idea and I think a lot of people will like it! To red team could be the Japanese and they could jump from a plane like in dday1 and the blue team could be the Americans that would spawn on a battleship.

 

Looks like we are getting map ideas from vacations
I got to idea of the map "cruiseship" when I spent my vacations on one.

But I also visited Hawaii and Pearl Harbor (saw a carrier and a navy submarine there ) and, I'm sorry, I don't think it will give a good map.
It's simply the fact that too much water on a map makes the combat slow and annoying, because you often get sniped in water.
You can't move fast and can't avoid getting hitted by bullets.
So if you want to make a map based on this idea, better make it about the island in the middle of the bay.
I think there was a airfield and some camps on it, the team could still start from planes/ships, but I think its better if they fight on the island.

40 people died at Pearl Harbor, all military men who had accepted the risk that they may be killed. In Hiroshima and Nagasaki, millions of civilians who had nothing to do with the war were butchered. PM me if you'd like to talk about this, no need to clog up the thread.

On topic, I would love to see some real historical battles happen!
