Actually what is zan's as that's new to me.

 

It's some minimap mod/hack that I really don't know about. I use Rei's Minimap for single player.

Rei's minimap is allowed, but any other kind of in game map is not.(Read the FAQ)

From what I'm getting out of it, every other minimap mod/hack contains player location, which Rei's Minimap does not have. Therefore, Rei's Minimap gives no advantages whatsoever, besides pathways and an aerial view of the map, like CoD...

 

Exactly. Rei's Minimap does not show player locations. I am not sure of what it is called, but there is a modpack I have that contains a Minimap that can show player locations. It also shows very detailed map descriptions from a top-down point of view if you zoom in very close(the map has a like 75x75 map range at least. Thats not very big in minecraft blocks)

 

I would say the mod, but I don't want any other players using it. It has a bunch of cheats/hacks including a minimap. I remember watching a mod review for that on my phone right when 1.6 came out during my laptop repair.

 

I honestly do not think that you will ever become a moderator unless you like coded an entire new thing that they needed since they started or something like that.

Waiwaiwaiwait, Zan's minimap is against the rules? I was going to get it, but now no way. May I ask why it is not allowed? Yes, it shows players, but all of them an in plain view. The only advantage I can think of is on onein, where your hunting someone down, and the map will tell you.

 

It's not allowed because it gives you an unfair advantage over players. As you said, using it to hunt people down is an advantage. And that's why it's not allowed.
