    Get a good screen recorder like Bandicam or fraps.

    Bandicam sucks, he should go with Fraps (like you mentioned) or Screenflow.

    I enjoy using Adobe premiere for my editing. It is quick and reliable. You don't need much skill to operate it and exporting is fast (If you have a decent processor). For animations, I don't have 2,000$ in my pocket so I use blender (It is free). In all honesty the screen recorder is up to you. I use fraps but it is not the best.

    Fraps if really good and screenflow is also pretty good those are both great.
