    You can try to delete minecraft and install it again.

    Are they getting this every time they attempt to join the server? Or is it just every so often, or every other time?

    I used to have this issue, but I got a new Gaming PC then it stopped and I don't think you are very willing to buy a $6000 Dollar PC just for McParty =P

    Right, I have just consulted this issue with an experience minecraft coder, and they have said that it seems that someone under the same username will have already been logged into the server. I have no idea why this may be, and that is all I can tell you.

    They may be lagging so much that the server doesn't recieve any data from their client and so thinks they are still online.

    Maybe because someone logged in with his Minecraft account email and password at the same time he logged in?

    No, I believe this to be something with the database, I haven't found the root cause of this yet, which server were you joining and can you try joining any of the other servers?
