Crossbow ideas

The way I see these crossbow thread, people always try to make the crossbow a more offensive weapon.
That's not how it works.
This is supposed to be a more defensive weapon.
It IS a bow after all.
Of couse, this promotes a more camping style, but that can't be helped.
Point being, if 99% of crossbow users are satisfied with the weapon, there is no need to change it.

I might be sounding picky, but technically, on a crossbow, you can wind up the drawstring and lock it in place, and pull the trigger to fire anytime. I think this is what this guy is proposing. In a traditional bow, however, the drawstring has to be manually pulled back, and you can't "save the shot for later" like a crossbow. So technically, the crossbow is actually a regular bow. Just sayin'.

 

I propose we just rename the crossbow to a bow, or the explosive bow. Because like you said, it doesnt work like a crossbow should, so why call it a crossbow? I understand it was named a crossbow to fall in line with the Call of Duty theme, but its still incorrectly named.

 

Well if there is no pull back... It's a auto explosive device which is OP... Either find a way to have a slower recharge or call it something like "explosive bow". So yeah, nice idea.

This is possible, but it won't stay and look as if it's pulled back, so it'll visually be eh.

 

We don't need overpowered stuff....
So, what this guy is saying, that he wants to get teh bow buffed...

To change that, simply:
Click on your name in the top right hand corner > Go to "Personal Details" > Click on "Custom Title" > Edit what it says :v

I agree with the fact that it really isn't a crossbow, considering it pulls back like a regular bow, instead or there being a "recharge" period that signifys the "pull back" of the crossbow. I like the idea of the shot being instant, but then you cannot do smaller arcs if it is automatically pulled back 100% :v

Also, as GreySwordz said, it would look a little funny.

 

Why is There even A arc to cbow? Makes no sence

On topic: Cbow is already getting a nerf, from what I've heard.

 

I think it will be too op. But I think it's a good idea. Very creative.
