    It's when you look way back in the forums and find an old thread that nobody has commented on for a long time, then comment on it so it brings it back to the most recent threads page. The term comes from the fact that a thread that nobody comments on any more is "dead", and "reviving" it is to try to bring back a topic of conversation that dried up a while ago. It is generally looked down upon.

    Unrelated: Is your name a play on the word "benign"?
