Spectate in War

This was suggested before and was rejected for the reason of people could troll so hard in this.

That was suggestion long ago and mods are not allowed to lock server ideas.

This has been suggested before, but this time better. If people are invisible, and have to stay above the map. Then it would be perfectly fine.

 

Normally I would lock this because it's a dupe, but this has improvements. If you can only go up or down in a 6 block radius (which @sargeant55 completely ignored :v) then you wouldn't be able to troll or shot block. Makes it nicer. Also, with extra coding, you can make projectiles go through players, but that's a lot of extra coding. (at least, I think it's possible...)

 

I like the idea, but you should be invisible, and be able to go anywhere. You cannot be shot, or block shots. I hope that gets added.

 

I do not know much about coding, but it is possible to have projectiles go through people under certain circumstances (IE spectator team). Before I joined War, I used to play a PVP server that did allow spectating, and if you blocked someone's arrows or snowballs, they would pass right through you, as if you were never there. So it is indeed possible.

Only problem with limiting people's y axis is that for maps like Plaza, you would not be able to go into the buildings where the majority of the action takes place (ex the bar/club). Until orange can code projectiles to go through certain people, the idea would not work as intended. All in good time I guess. PS: untagged sergeant to not spam him.

 

That will cause problems and its pointless too on maps like favela where one side is higher than the other. Plus i can causing cheating among people.. finding campers with their friends in chat, skype, etc. this also would lose a lot of the servers FPS elements (not just COD but every other FPS) i think there should be more things in the spawn than actually in the matches themselves if we are talking about ideas like these. (for people waiting.)

Also it's called /setgroup spectator, when you use /war spectate you also activate dat command.

 

This and unnecessary slots taken by spectator. As I said about about /war leave , The server is for playing the game not just messing around. That extra slot could be a player wanting to join but a player is playing around with parkour (Spectating in this case).

In 1.8 there is going to be a spectator mode. (/gamemode 3) No-clip inclusive
Problem solved.

 

You can clip through walls, finding where people are and giving away their position. Only good for finding glitchers/hackers, not much else.
