    McBrawl Mod Application:

Hello, Brawlers. Due to my last Application going into such detail, I will try to refrain from copying it. Questions such as "What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft" may be more or less the same, but I will try to hit on other key points not met on my last Application. I have come a long way being a Moderator of Mc-Warfare, and I hope to better the community by also helping out on the MinecraftParty servers. Thank you all for reading.

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? -
Being a current Moderator of Mc-Warfare, I make it my duty to put the communities needs before my own. Whether in-game, on the forums, or on TeamSpeak, the community comes first. The whole reason I strived to become Moderator here on McBrawl was to help people have their best possible experience, and I intend on doing this now, in the future, and forever. I would consider myself addicted to the forums, accumulating over 1,300+ posts (This is 1,000+ more posts than when I posted my original Application). When I comment on a thread, I don't simply write my opinion and move on, but instead, I put real thought into what I am about to write, making sure that my comment was helpful, and contributing to the discussion. As a Moderator, people look up to what I say, and I wouldn't want to be the one giving them false information/wasting their time with a pointless post. As for TS3, I try to be as active as possible. I am not the most active Moderator on TS3, but I try to log on as often as possible. When I log on McBrawl, I try to open TS3 with it. I enjoy speaking to the community, getting to know the members and helping them with their questions. When online, I aim to help out at least two people with any type of problem they are having, whether it's "How do I register on the forums?" or "How do I apply for staff?" Upon answering them, I would tell them to PM me on the forums if they have any further questions on the subject. The most important aspect of being a Moderator is to be active and helpful in-game. When online, I try to help as many people as possible. Whether they have a question on how to play, what to do, or how to do something, I am always the first one to reply. Even if it means losing the game, it's more satisfying to know that I helped someone with their issue. As Ole would say, I am indeed active and helpful on the Holy Trinity.

Which server are you applying for? -
I am applying for the Moderator position on MinecraftParty.

    How old are you? -
I have just recently turned 16, being born on February 10, 1998. Being 16, I feel I am mature enough to handle two Moderator positions at once, and capable of moderating them equally.

What time zone are you in? -
My timezone is UTC/GMT -5 hours EST.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
I first discovered Minecraft two years ago, when my friends at school were talking about it. Intrigued by the idea of building structures with blocks, I decided to buy the game for myself. I started out playing single player, learning the basics (how to craft, build, survive, ect), and learning the Minecraft mechanics. After spending a considerable amount of time on single player, I decided it was time to play multiplayer. At first, I was confused on how multiplayer worked, what with IPs and all, but I eventually found out that you needed an IP to connect to a Minecraft server. Knowing this information, I googled Minecraft servers, and started searching for servers I thought may interest me. The first server I stumbled upon was a faction server. There I learned the basic multiplayer commands, and how multiplayer worked in general. After this, I decided to look for other servers, eventually coming across prison themed servers. I enjoyed the concept of ranking up through the prison blocks, and started playing prison servers more often. After my prison server phase, I moved on to playing skyblock and mini-game servers. After about a year of playing assorted Minecraft servers, I decided to start a prison themed server of my own. It became very successful, averaging around 70+ players a day. Unfortunately, due to lack of funds/players, we had to shutdown. After this time, I decided to go searching for other Minecraft servers that interested me. My friend Luigi told me about a server with guns and zombies. I was fascinated by the idea of guns in minecraft, so I decided to join. This was when my MultiplayerServers (McBrawl) kick first started. I started out playing McWarZ for a few months, then Mario told me about Mc-Warfare. This was when my real adventure had begun. Looking back on that day now, I know that was one of the best decisions of my Minecraft career.

What is your experience with moderating servers? -
To avoid from copying my previous Application, I will try to hit on other key points that I left out on my last Application, including my time as a Moderator here on Mc-Warfare. I have been Moderator on many unique servers in the past, and today, I still hold my position as a Mc-Warfare Moderator. Over the years, I have accumulated a lot of Moderator experience, especially from my first Moderator experience, GizmoServers. GizmoServers is a network of servers, that used to average around 100-150+ players online at a time when I was Moderator. Proof of this can be found here (over the past few months they have lost a few player, but they still average around 50-100+ players). Gizmo was actually the first prison themed server I've ever played. At the time, I was very new to multiplayer, and new to the concept of a prison. With the help of the community, I quickly learned how to play, and how to conduct myself on a multiplayer server. I played a few months as a regular player, and one day decided to apply for Guard/Moderator. I was graciously accepted to the team, and learned to be the well educated Moderator I am today. I forced myself to use proper grammar, expanding my vocabulary to a more mature standing. I also learned how a Moderator should conduct himself on the forums/in-game, and that being a Moderator is not something to toy with. It is a big responsibility to handle, and shouldn't be taken lightly. From that point on, I strived to push myself into being the best Moderator I could be. I am no longer staff on GimzoServers, but I do have statements of the current Admins who knew me from my time period as staff. Proof of this can be found here and here. If you would like to confirm this information, the IP is mc.GizmoServers.net (not advertising, this is just to validate my information). I have been Moderator on many other servers as well, but I have no remaining proof of moderation, so I will leave them out. Not only have I been Moderator on a variety of different servers, but I have also Owned my own successful prison themed server. We were very successful, averaging around 70+ players at a time. During this time period, I learned how to be more than a server Moderator, and actually became a respected server Owner. We had to eventually shut down due to lack of players and funds, but I'll never forget what I learned from that experience. Around this time, I discovered MultiplayerServers (McBrawl), and I instantly fell in love. From that moment on, I made it my mission to be the most active, helpful member on the servers. After a few months of dedication and hard work, I applied for Moderator. I was surprised at all the positive feedback I received, and was grateful that I had made such a huge impact on the community. Unfortunately, my Application was denied. I took this denial as a sign, a sign saying not to give up, and push harder. From then on, I became more active than ever. One day in TS3, I was told by Putty that he reconsidered my Application, and felt I was ready for the position. From my time here at McBrawl, I have learned so much, and made many good friends along the way. I quickly caught on to how to moderate efficiently, and became better and better at my job every day. And now, here I am today, two months after my promotion. Till this day, I have loved every minute spent on McBrawl.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
Being a current Moderator on Mc-Warfare, I would like to benefit the community further by helping out on the MinecraftParty servers. From the past few weeks of playing MinecraftParty, I have noticed how much spamming, cussing, and hacking occurs on the servers. I have observed @Hudstorm perform his Moderator duties, and it taught me that MinecraftParty definitely needs more Moderators to help keep order on the increasing popular servers. I would like to do my part by stopping the spammers/players disturbing the peace, and to keep MinecraftParty a family friendly server. I understand that as a MinecraftParty Moderator, you cannot simply continue to play the game when there is a player breaking the rules. You have to stop what you are playing, and make the situation your number one priority, even if it means losing the game. You are there to make the server a better place, not to play the game like a regular Member. Same thing goes for when a player asks me a question. When a player asks me a question, even if I'm about to win, I stop what I'm doing and try to help the player to my best extent. The community comes first.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? -
I try to dedicate my time to playing all of the McBrawl servers, spending most of my time on either Mc-Warfare or MinecraftParty. I try to log on for a minimum of 2-3 hours a day, making sure I help out a considerable amount of players with any questions they may have. I am constantly stopping rule breakers from violating our server rules, protecting the servers from spam, advertisements, and excessive cursing. I am very mature when online, using proper grammar and being as professional as possible, but I do have a fun side where I joke around with friends, and have a good time. On a scale of 1-10, I would say I am an 8 on server activity.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? -
I try to log on TS3 as often as possible. When I log on McBrawl, if I'm not already in a Skype call, I log on TS3 as well. When online, I like to talk to friends online, or simply talk to random members of the community. I try to help them with any questions they may have, and if they don't have any questions, I normally join them on the server they are currently on. I always end up having a good time with the community, and we always get a good laugh. I often get the question "How do I put on push to talk?" and "How do I use my mic?" I try to give them a step by step guide on how to do these actions, and if they still do not understand, I would appoint them to a higher staff member for more assistance. I'm not the most active staff member on TS3, but when I'm online, I try to make the most of it.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? -
I would consider myself addicted to the forums. As I said before, I have accumulated 1,300+ posts on the forums, and I am currently on the leaderboard for most positive ratings with 532 up votes. I am on the forums everywhere I go, whether I'm at home, at school, on the road, or virtually anywhere else I have access to my iPhone and internet. I follow all of the forums that interest me, which includes the announcements, all of the Mc-Warfare forums, all of the MinecraftParty forums, and a few others. I try to comment on every thread that I have interest in, making sure to leave a helpful, informative post, contributing to the discussion. I am on the forums for 2-4 hours on the weekdays (due to school, but that doesn't stop me from getting on my phone), and around 4-6 hours on the weekends. I have increased my posts by 1,000 since my last Application, and I intend for that number only to get larger. I consider the forums community my second family, and I always enjoy speaking to them.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
My greatest strength would have to be my dedication and effort put into something I set my mind to. When I have a goal for myself, I make it my duty to fulfill that goal, and exceed it. I cannot settle for less, and I feel as if I have failed myself if I leave the task unattained. My second greatest strength (possibly tied) would have to be my ability to communicate with players easily. Whether on the TS3, forums, or servers, I enjoy communicating with the members of the community, making them feel welcome, and giving them a friend. I do this because when I first joined the servers, so many people were kind to me, and I want to pay my dues back to the community by doing the exact same thing.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My greatest weakness would have to be (much like Minecraftbro) hesitation. On my previous Application, I stated that my greatest weakness would have to be trusting people to easily. After reevaluating myself over the past few weeks, I realized that hesitation was my bigger issue. Being a Moderator on Mc-Warfare, I tend to second guess myself when it comes to a ban/kick. I'd ask myself what would be the consequences of my actions if I were to be wrong, and if I'm making the right decision. Over the past few days, I have set a goal for myself to overcome this weakness, and to become more confident in my choices.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? -
Assuming this question is for MinecraftParty, I would first message them privately to stop what they are doing immediately, notifying them that what they are doing is against the rules, and that further conflicts would lead to further punishment.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? -
If the player continues on with his shenanigans, I would inform him in public chat that he has already been previously warned, and that he will now be kicked from the server. I would then issue him with a kick from the server, explaining the situation.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? -
After a third offense, the player clearly doesn't care about any actions that will be taken against him/her, and I will issue him with a temporary ban from the server for one hour.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? -
If someone proves me wrong on the forums, I would apologize for my mistake, correct myself, and be sure to correct my faults in the future. I would take the correction as a learning experience, so I could give a better answer if ever asked the same question. Everyone makes mistakes at some point.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? -
If the thread/comment is to be disposed of immediately, such as excessive swearing and flaming, advertising, or anything else along these lines, I would report it with the "Report" feature so an Admin can dispose of the thread entirely. If the offense is minor such as spamming, I would alert the player of his wrong doings, give him a warning, and kindly ask him/her to edit/delete their post to make it more appropriate. I would then attach a link to our forum rules thread, telling them to read it to insure mistakes like this never happen again in the future.

When would you lock a thread? -
I would lock a thread under these circumstances:

    • The thread has gone hopelessly off topic.
    • The thread has started a flame war.
    • The thread was started to directly insult/start a flame war with another member.
    • The thread is a duplicate thread.
    • The topic has been brought up before (Unless it's a server idea)
    • The thread is spam.
    • A lock has been requested by the author.
    • The thread has been answered/resolved.
    • The thread is a gravedig (over 2 weeks)

Before I lock the thread, I would post which of these incidents have occurred, explaining why I'm locking the thread, and would then reply with the words "Thread Locked." If I have no authority in the section, I would report the thread with the "Report" feature, so a higher up staff member could resolve the situation. I would then attach a link to the forums rules, so the member can learn from his mistakes.

    Describe yourself in 3 words:
    Reliable, Ambitious, Dedicated

    Describe yourself in 1 sentence:
I'm an ambitious young teenager, always looking to put forth my best effort into any situation.

Anything else we should know about you? -
I have just recently turned 16 years old, and I am a sophomore in high school with excellent grades in honors classes. I play club soccer, and also for my high school team. Due to my good grades, my parents allow me to spend a lot of time on my computer/electronics, so I have plenty of time to spend on the forums and servers. I am always on Skype, so if you ever need to contact me, or simply want to talk, send me a friend request. I am always open to answering any question, or if you just want someone to play with. My favorite McBrawl server is Mc-Warfare, but I have grown to like MinecraftParty almost as much. Even if I am rejected this status, I would strive to become better than I am now in order to accomplish my goal.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? -
I'll answer this as if it were a question about MinecraftParty. If I were to see a player outside of the map/glitching out of the map, I would stop what I am doing, and immediately take a screenshot. I would then ask them in public chat to return to the map, or leave the server. If they refuse to do so, or ignore my orders, I would send him a final warning in /msg, explaining to him that he will be kicked from the server if he does not reenter the map. If he continues to ignore me, I would issue him with a kick from the server, explaining that he had been warned multiple times. If he were to log back on and continue to break the rules, I would have no choice but to temporarily ban him/her from the server for one hour. If this glitch has not been mentioned or reported in the past, I would report it on the forums immediately.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? -
Yes, I have thoroughly read Bman's guide on how to moderate MinecraftParty (staff view only), and I believe I am fully aware of all the commands needed to be an efficient Moderator on MinecraftParty.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? -
Yes, I am aware of the fact that if I abuse my power or disrespect another staff member / member, I will be stripped of my Moderator status. Being a Moderator is a position of authority, and should be held with the utmost respect.

Active on the forums and in game. I think you could use a little more TeamSpeak activity in my opinion, but its a definite +1!

Keep up the g0od work Signatured!

Thank you both. TS3 is definitely where I'm lacking in. I'm not inactive, but I'm definetly not as active as Moderators like Bman or _PublicEnemy_. This is because I'm normally in a Skype call with some other friends, and it's hard to talk in both TS3 and Skype at the same time. I enjoy talking to the community, and all my other friends on TS3, so intend on coming online more often. Thanks for the positive feedback!

I don't really feel that I have to repeat what any of the above mods said. However, if you aren't active on TS3, you likely won't receive a promotion. However, you don't have to talk in TS all the time; chatting via IM is fine.

It's not that I'm inactive. I'm just not as active as some of the other Moderators such as Bman, _PublicEnemy_, ect. I'm still very active on the TS3. Thank you for the comment!
