New Rating- Off-Topic

Is the Pointless rating related to this one? I'm certain that it is almost the same. We really don't need negative ratings because they could "hurt" other forum members when they are spammed with ratings.

 

I do not think we necessarily need this, as going really off topic results in 1 forum warning point. You can just report the message and say it is off topic, and a staff member can report it. This is my opinion.
Plus, add on what moko said. The pointless rating would fit the bill for an off topic post as well.

 

We don't need a off-topic rating, although it isn't a bad idea. The thing is, we have two things that resolve it.
1. Report a off-topic post
2. Rate it pointless
It is really not needed, saying we have those 2 things. Thanks for suggesting it though!

 

Pointless and Off Topic aren't the same. Sometimes, I've seen people who've said that their post wasn't pointless and kept arguing back at the person. Although, you do have a point when this rating is similar to pointless.

 

Generally, if it is off topic, report the post and/or tag a staff member, and a staff member will take care of the issue. There doesn't need to be an off topic rating in my opinion, if the staff can handle problems related to off topic. Remember, these ratings are opinions. Pointless is an opinion, too. Off topic isn't really an opinion though.

 

As brawler said, you can just call a staff.
Also, is this just to show how much times you have gone off topic?

 

Instead of off topic we already have the rating pointless so I would say that also means off topic.

 

Well for the time being we don't have anymore rating :v You need to convince Putty to bring it back and put in the dislike rating

 

If a staff deletes it, the imminent problem is gone but the underlying problem is still there. After all, what is to stop someone to keep posting off topic messages? If someone gets a negative rating, they should deal wih it. If they can't, I'd rather they not be part of our community anyways.

 

Simple. If they keep posting off topic stuff, they're banned from the forums. There is still the Pointless rating for a negative ratings.

 

Mods should start publicly warning and applying warning points for off topic posts.
