I think that this is really needed for the forums, it simply gives a message to all new players to not apply for mod until they are an active member on the forums and are active in game, this would hopefully stop a large amount of new forum members from posting mod applications as soon as they join.

I could be wrong, but is not there a little banner when you open the staff application page that says what to do and what not to do? I clicked the X on that banner (as I did not see a reason to keep it), so it does not show up anymore.

@tallscot has started greeting new members as well. @PigOiler also greets them.
    The banner says:
    1. Before applying, make sure you are active on the forum and actively posting rule breaker reports.
Applicants, do NOT ask staff to read your application, you WILL be DENIED.

Currently not interested in Creative, Team-HG Mods, or MC-War Mods (Unless your application is really impressive)

I remember back in November when I joined, I read that, and posted about 10 things before applying, just because I couldn't resist it. New members (at least most of them) do not really take that into consideration.

I remember when I joined and, while it was not my real goal, did want to apply. Now, this was back before you posted an app and people other than admins actually saw it and graded it, but the principle still applies.

Even if you put it blunt, people may still apply because they are just too excited to even heed the message. Those who actually listen or stay after trying are the smart ones.

Telling them they can't apply from the get-go might just make them leave from the start since they don't have a real point to stay.

I do believe something like this was the original intent of the @McBrawl account, wether that is still going ahead, I am unsure.

I agree. This is a great idea! However, some may still not read it. Also, you could have an auto-message when you first log onto the server, daily.

There should just be a guideline for first time users. So it gives them a tour and tips if it is their first time joining the forums
