Many people nuke with the MSR, say it's boss and great. But when I use it, I don't know if it's just me sucking, but I do terribly with the MSR. My highest killstreak with it is around 9, yet other people nuke every round with it. I usually jump around with it; am I just using it wrong, do I just suck, or does it suck?

    it's probably me that sucks

Yeah... You're probably not used to it. It's better than the Dissa in my opinion. There are plenty of other reasons. @Sonicluke2000 can teach you v:

I've never been great with the MSR myself. I'm more of an Isolator type of guy. If you're not used to it, it's going to take some practice. I used it in the past and was pretty decent, now I struggle to maintain a good killstreak with it. Practice makes perfect.

I've nuked with the msr a lot, it's become my new favorite gun. I don't do as well with it as I do with the iso or skully, but it's super satisfying to nuke with because its sort of hard for me to use. I wouldn't suggest using it if you want to do super well(unless your good with it), but it's possible if you keep practicing.

Remember when we used to have those Iso fights? I miss those days.

On topic, I prefer MSR over Isolator now, but it's not for everyone. It all depends on practice, preference, and experience. It takes time to get used to.

It's the best sniper overall for camping. I've nuked with the weapon twice before I got the Iso.

The MSR isn't really, for me at least, a jump-and-bob weapon. It's more for camping and support. @Sonicluke2000
is the forum's MSR expert. You can ask him all about it. He uses it so well, he makes it seem easy. I've nuked a couple of times with it, but I prefer the Isolator over it.
Not for the one-shot, but how it shoots.

MSR is amazing in my opinion, and i usually run around with it (works good for me) And try to aim for the head so you kill them before they notice you.

I do not use the MSR as much, it just isn't the best sniper in my opinion.

Although I used to use it frequently, and I did okay. It also depends on the map too.

Why is it better than the disassembler? Same stats, except for the disassembler having a large clip.

The Dissassembler has a large clip. That's the only thing good about it, besides the lack of recoil. The MSR's high firerate makes it a lot more useful, as you can quickly kill enemies with ease. If you miss one shot, you can quickly put more in, which is something the Dissa cannot do. Also, the recoil is something that I'm used to in snipers, which makes the Dissa, a sniper without recoil, harder to use. In addition, the small clip of the MSR encourages a few quick shots, then to move on. With the Dissassembler's huge clip, I feel like it's more of a spray and pray weapon.
Also, the Dissassembler's large clip encourages you to shoot more. However, it only has one full clip. This is bad on situations when you are shooting, and sometimes need a reload to prevent yourself from wasting ammo. You do have a secondary weapon, you know...
Really, I prefer the Dragunov over the Dissa, for most of the same reasons as the MSR.

I bring again my point with the other MSR thread. The only reason you would use the disassembler is with headshots. Once that is put into the equation, it is far superior in comparison to the MSR. Even if the MSR can save you at close range with its firerate, that's what the python is really for, so not much is lost.
People say the reason to use the disassembler is to use it like an MSR and shoot as many bullets as you can when you have the chance. That is not the most efficient course of action. I don't know why anyone would think of wanting to say out of cover with a sniper rifle in the first place. The point of the disassembler is that if you can master headshots, you don't need to stay covered as long, ergo increasing longevity.

Another thing. I would not recommend the MSR in PLACE of the disassembler. For a semi-automatic, use the dragunov. My reason for that is that the MSR has too fast of a firerate, in that you don't need that fast of a rate to be efficient. The dragunov is a perfect balance. If you want a powerful gun that shoots fast and can headshot, use the python. In that sense, the MSR is a secondary to the python. The MSR's strength is in closer range, which is easily surpassed by the python.

The MSR is a great weapon for people who are not yet prestige. It has a good clip size and cab 2-shot kill someone if hit in the body. Like all snipers it can kill someone instantly if you hit them in the head, and this makes it a weapon to fear. There are a few downsides to this gun as well, one of them being its extremely high rate if fire, meaning that if you don't have scav then you can run out of ammo extremely quickly.

Overall it's a great gun if you have scav, and you can run around and take out large groups of enemy soldiers with this gun. It's relatively quick reload time makes it ideal for the average player and it's easy to nuke with.
