I also come from a military family, plus I'm in the south, not all of us or gung-ho for shot guns XD
Dad cycles through a lot of guns with trading and such to get a feel for all guns. To be honest, shooting releases a lot of stress, and finding out how new guns feel is amazing ^.^ (this isn't off topic? Is it)

Why would you prefer a Barret...
IRL, that thing weighs like 30 pounds (excluding ammo), and you can only shoot from a prone position because it's so damn heavy.
I'd prefer a DMR, like a MK14 EBR or a SCAR-H long-range variant.

 

Fun fact: The Norwegian Special Ops beat even the Green Berets in USA.
And the NSO uses higher than .50 caliber guns. (OF COURSE not handheld)

I looked up ".67 cal", and the only guns that fired .67 ammunition were flintlock rifles and pistols that were used like, 200 years ago. Uh-huh...
