So, I don't really know of this is possible, but here is what I think. So, instead of having a million applications from new people, we lock the staff app to anyone that does not have at least some posts, and have joined for at least two months. They can post on other people's apps, but not make their own thread.

Mm, good idea. I like it. Although this would be just a small addition since S-Mods/Admins can already deny and lock threads but, ok!

The staff app section would be less full of auto denies, and more full of people that might have a chance.

Why should we want this? It takes chickenputty ~3 seconds to deny a thread that he can see a new member made.

Good point, but now we can save those 3 seconds of chickeputty's time.

What about removing "Create Thread" button for 24 hours on mod apps section for new members?

That seems like a reasonable amount of time, but maybe we can extend it for a week or two judging to see if that person likes the forums or not making them inclined to make an application if they stay beyond that set time period.

I think that would help, tho, to allow people to get more posts and activity before applying, so @GK01320135780 's is irrelevant +1

I don't think there should necessarily be a time limit, and if there was one, make it not so long.
I think it should be based more on the amount of posts, like 250-300+ posts.

All I could see this leading too is the spamming of Q+A section about how they can apply for staff.

    Good idea.
But as @Hudstorm said, it could lead to other things like that.

Either way, I still like it.
Maybe 50+ post or you cannot apply? +1

It can always be great if you can just "Hide" the staff app section at first, once 100 posts are reached, you can apply.
