    I can't see the point of this, but then again I can see the point of it.

    Well, seems like a unique update.
    But I think you should have to buy it to change it.
    It could end up really bad.
    I can imagine some person getting a Chaploo skin and changing his name to Chaplooo or Chickenputtty.
    Could get confusing.

    I don't think you can change your name to one already in use. Take, for example, Instagram. You can change your name to one not already bring used, but your original account data stays the same, such as your photos, videos, etc.

    They aren't. If Joeymast99 changed his name to underwearl0lz he'd still be banned. Same applies to OP and whitelist. Go to http://www.mojang.com and scroll down to 1.7.6 name changing FAQ for more info.

    ...Wow. That code is simpler than I thought...
    But I see a flaw. I assume this system stores all previous names in a database with UUIDs as keys.
    But what if someone starts repeatedly joining with different names every time? The database would be spammed with junk information.
