[Admin] Staff Interviews #3 Chickenputty ~ Name-Making Patties?

I am here with another interview. Today, chickenputty is in the spotlight!


Just for starters, chickenputty kindly gave me these 2 paragraphs of history to base the questions off of.

Here they are:

I've been with Minecraft-Multiplayer / MultiplayerServers since around March 2013.
I use to play with orange451 back in alpha on a different Minecraft server community and I hopped on MC-War and found orange there after losing track of him for a few months. Orange immediately made me moderator and I had no idea what my pink name meant. Left the server for a month or two, came back, still had moderator. At this time I had just left that other community and decided to hop on MultiplayerServers' Ventrillo (ew) and continued until we finally got a Teamspeak. I was promoted to WarZ mod on around 3/10/2013 and later promoted to WarZ administrator on 4/7/13. Not exactly sure when I became administrator on War, but that also happened.

My name is from back in 2007 a girl in my (5th grade?) class wanted to instant message me on Yahoo. We had a whiteboard in our classroom that stated what was for lunch that day and it was something and chicken patties. I ended up making the a into u during indoor recess (it rained that day I guess). So, when I was making my Yahoo account that day after school I made my name chickenputty instead of my previous aliases.


So, now for the actual interview!

1. When and where did you discover McBrawl?
I played on McBrawl's KitBrawl server back a year or two ago before they had created MC-War. I didn't stay for very long, just wanted to check out what the server was since I saw it in Leafy's video. This was before any of the other servers were up (to my knowledge).
Ultimately, I discovered MC-War which lead me into the McBrawl (Minecraft-Multiplayer) community by finding orange451's PvPGun plugin on the Bukkit forums. I was looking for a good place to test the plugin and orange had the mc-war.com IP in the description of the plugin. Upon logging in and playing a few times I got into a match with orange where he gave me moderator.

2. What were your first impressions on McBrawl?
I was really impressed at how MC-War took the vanilla snowballs and made a full out FPS shooter in Minecraft. At the time, plugin heavy servers weren't popular at all and I had no idea you could do that much with just a server side plugin.

3. How did you feel when you met orange451 again on McWar?
When I found his plugin on the forums I didn't connect two and two together for some reason. Upon talking to him in-game I finally remembered that we use to play on another server back in the day. I couldn't believe he still stuck with Minecraft for that long.

4. Are you glad orange gave you the Moderator rank on Mc-War?
If I didn't get moderator on that day I honestly probably wouldn't be with McBrawl to this day. I don't think I could of played Minecraft for four years as a normal player; it's just not that entertaining.

5. Do you think you made the right choice coming back after a month?
Definitely.

6. Do you think you deserved to be promoted to Admin on McWarZ after being a moderator on there?
At the time McBrawl seemed to be lacking in a few places and I just wanted to do everything I could to help them out. The admin rank just allowed me to access some things I wasn't able to as a moderator.

7. Do you enjoy the Admin rank?
I'm not sure if I can really say if I enjoy the rank itself, I just really like to work with computers and being an adminstrator allows me to better my skills. I think being an administrator has provided a lot of experience for my future. I'm still learning!

8. What sort of duties do you have as an Admin that are different from a Mod?
I have full access to everything, besides for the Paypal account . On a daily basis I have to respond to all support emails, keep up our Twitter, take care of forum and game issues, help out and organize our staff, take care of any purchase issues, and take care of anything backend (booting servers, updating plugins, move files, etc).

9. Is being an Admin a tiring job?
Sometimes it can be tiring, but not really. I just wish I had more time to finish my long todo lists that I keep making.

10. What is your favourite part about McBrawl?
The community. In my opinion, you cannot find another server network as big as ours with such a powerful, active community. <3
