Well, I'm pretty sure hackers would abuse Hearth Bleed rather to hack people's bank account than to hack a game.

I know, but it is a much lower risk in a game than in the banks.

 

But out of every single game whose accounts that could have been hacked, how come only Minecraft was affected. Steam probably was not affected, same for origin. Those are HUGE gaming related services, but they never got hacked. Minecraft seems to be the only one that was affected. For what reason, I do not know. Just seems very suspicious.

 

First of all, Minecraft is not the only one affected. Any authentication server using SSL was at one point vulnerable to this kind of attack. Before everyone starts going crazy, here's some information:
Basically, Heartbleed is a bug in OpenSSL, the software that most web sites use for secure connections. Any time your web browser displays the now-familiar lock icon or https badge in the address bar, that indicates that the connection with that site is secured by SSL.

If a web server is running a version of OpenSSL that is affected by the bug, a hacker is able to send a request to the server that will cause the server to, in essence, scoop up a random chunk of data that is currently residing in the server’s RAM and send it back. The hacker doesn’t get any say as to what data is returned. It’s just like a Christmas present… maybe a shiny new iPad, maybe socks.

So, if you're still worried that your minecraft account has been hacked, here are some odds:

• First of all, why minecraft? Bank accounts are a lot more juicy.
• Second of all, why you? If you aren't some famous youtube celebrity, there probably isn't anyone out there that's that concerned with hacking you.
• Mojang has not specifically mentioned that Minecraft accounts were compromised, rather, it has simply put forth that they may have been an attack targeted at them, and that they simply have no way of knowing.
• Finally, assuming some no life with a special prejudice against you is running around hacking minecraft accounts, there's nothing to say that he got lucky and even got your password. He might have gotten some relatively superfluous bytes instead.

While it is a good idea to change your password, this isn't the end of the world.
