    Great idea, it will be easier for staff to lock threads and to do their job on the forums in general.

    I think it's a good idea. Player can lock their own thread if they feel they got their answer or see a flame war starting. As GreenPeas said though, it takes some of the load off Moderators. Meh, I still think it's a good idea.

    Wasn't this added with the forums update? Correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the new features added was the ability for users to lock their own threads.

    This would make the job of Moderator a bit easier.
    Coming from experience, it is hard to search every active thread and see if a flame war is starting or the answer has been said.
    It would be a benefit to the community and make the forums a bit neater.

    I don't think users know when to lock a thread. I think if everyone can lock their threads it'll just be a lock city and no discussion will take place. If you want a lock, just report the original post, those are the easiest reports to respond to and they're not even that common.
