Idea Nullify vertical knockback.

Once a guy was camping on a ledge in the snowtown, so i snuck up as suddenly attacked. Unfortunately, I simply shot him up and over the ledge, and he survived. This was just from 2 or 3 ak shots, any more would've killed him. The knockback, especially the vertical knockback, is crazy in terms of realism, and can be super annoying. If you believe this is in fact realistic, you're a twat.

My proposal is to nullify any vertical knockback. People will still be knocked back laterally, but not vertically.

 

The knockback can be a bit annoying at times, and is super unrealistic. But I agree this is not a big problem.

 

You need to realise that there's a line in terms of realism. Too realistic hurts the gameplay, too unrealistic makes the game unrecognizable to real life. So don't say any realism is bad, because sometimes the game gets too unrealistic. You also fail to realize how stupid the knockback looks. Carrying large guns, running at 8m/s and being 2m tall is plausable. Those things happen in real life, but being shot meters into the air from gunfire is against the basic laws of physics.

 

I'm talking about the knockback when bullets hit players, not when players shoot.

 

A sniper round would go straight through a body without displacing it much because of its low surface area and high force. There would be some knockback, but this wouldn't be much. And anyway, I just want to nullify vertical knockback, lateral knockback is fine. In short, I just don't want people flying after they get hit.
