Why MC-War and MCBrawl is dying.

The flaw in this post is that you are currently under the assumption that our coder, orange451, is not doing anything to improve this server. Now, that statement is correct, but is not looking at the bigger picture. He has made a thread saying that he is more focused and concerned with events such as school. Wether or not that is still undergoing is beyond me, as I do not confront him with such things, but we should be patient with him in that he is more concerned with life events rather than this.

There is no bias in the previous statement. I come from the same point as you. I donated, played a long time like you did, and am thinking about the future of this server. But if the future of this server is halted by more serious events, I can do no more than to be patient and wait for that eventuality.

 

I do agree with this though it is not fully correct. Mc-War maybe dying but it won't collapse and neither will any other MPS servers there is. However, there are some people whose interests in Mc-war are growing weaker like mine which is why I will make a thread soon as well.

 

Yes, I agree with the majority of this thread.
It has been a while since an update, and we are waiting on it to come out. Even just a ETA would soothe the community a bit.

I would say popularity wise, Party is more popular as of right now due to many YouTubers recording Party than War.

 

Sorry to say this but be more patient, ok the update is supposed to be patched up since 9 months but think about there might new content anyway it's true that the community is too much on the dark

 

Honestly, I agree completely with this.
Alright, before everyone hates on me for this, I'm just giving my opinion.
I know how orange has school, but I'm not sure why in hell's name they admins didn't hire another coder to do mc-war.
Sure, it might not be perfect to what we are used to, but at least we could get the new update out and attract more players. When summer comes and orange doesn't have as much school, he can take back over and work with the new coder or whatever. I know we need to be patient, but after 9 months, 9 months of rage, annoyance, and impatience, I think all of our patiences have all grown quite thin.

 

Why not just update the server with that stuff there is from the test server ?

 

The test server was extremely buggy. Do you want your C4 to not deal any damage? How about zombies that have to punch a person 2/3 times to kill? And what about having your stats rolled back around 4 months?
There's a reason why it was called a test server. It was for beta testing, and was quite buggy.

But I think as long as there are new mc-players they will not die (hopefully).

 

Once summer comes, the servers will be packed again.

We are not "dying". We are just not updating Mc-War as much as our more experienced players would like us too.

Look onik, I understand how annoying it is to be waiting and waiting for something that seems like its never going to happen, but that doesn't mean we are dying. I agree with you on the part where we need to update, (This would definitely bring new players and make old players happy). But we are still a great server and community.

Finally a thread about the lack of updates that is intelligent and well thought out! You have a few good points Onik. While I don't think Mc-war is dying, I do believe that Mc-Brawl may need a substitute coder for just a little while.

Also, why have we not been given any news about the progress of the update? Even if the news was bad, it would still be nice to know what has been done and what still needs fixing. We don't care any more about surprises. It has been to long for that. I believe that if we were given even only a little new about the update, the community as a whole would be encouraged. Orange has not posted for over 2 months now and for all we know he could be dead. :V This utter silence is what is killing us. I suppose until we get any news about the update we will all have to be patient. Let's all just assume that the update will never come. That way we won't have to think about it....

 

Nothing lasts forever, I agree a lot with you. Same crap happened to a old server back in 1.8 Beta.....

CraftSquad was a small little server, lead by the infamous uvealmolord. He and some mods (me) ran the server for more than a year, though we was not the worlds most mature staff team.
In about 1.0.0 official relase, they changed name to NovaCraft. In 1.2, I think, the owner became a lot inactive, and the co-owner had more or less all power. He killed the server when he changed the server from a
no grief/towny/vanilla to a greif/raid/factions/VERY MANY plugins. The server went from 10-15 daily players to 3-5, me, a single Rank II (blue) mod, and a very few other players. Another inactive Blue Mod (Rank II) joined once, promised a huge update and revert things back to as it were in 1.8 Beta. It never happened. A few months after the promise the server had a red text reading "Can't Resolve Hostname" under the server IP, and after that, the server has never been re-opened for real.

I was also a player 2 years ago.
I still think it's not dying.

 

Because it gets boring to play the same games for more than a year it's dying.

 

When it happens im going to cry. cause i spended til now 55 USD for Mc-War.

 

I have spent 30, I think.. What does the value pack cost?
But yeah, if someone don't do anything soon this server will end just like NovaCraft.
