locked thread ratings

But rating posts is the only way people can give opinions on locked threads.

 

Once locked people may use ratings to back up arguements, if someone in comments was right and not taken as right they could place an agree to show that they are supporting the point, this could therefor change a players interpretation of the discussion.

 

You could always delete your posts if you don't want them to be rated. People should still have a right to speak their opinion on a post even if the thread is locked.

 

It's a way for people to speak out their minds without having to comment on the thread regardless to whether or not it's locked.

Think about it this way, if you made a pointless post on a thread, you'd be getting pointless ratings regardless to whether or not it's locked.

 

I thought they took away the option to delete posts, if they haven't, I haven't figured out the new way.

 

Ratings and voting in polls is very important for instance in a mod application, it shows that the non-mod members want to give their opinion on the applier.
