How can I convince my parents to get an airsoft pistol

    Recently,,, I found out my friends have airsoft wars and they have electric assault rifles. I only have a spring pistol. I cannot get an assault rifle but I could probably get a CO2 pistol which is better than nothing. But I just do not know how to approach this subject as my parents are opposed to guns. Any tips? I have all A's and B's so my grades are fine. I am 17 yrs of age and I am mature. I make dinner every night and I clean the house. I have made dinner every night since 2013 of June. I really need help.

    Perhaps they do not think you are mature enough for it.
    I don't mean to pry on personal stuff like that, but that might be the case.

    Eh, that must be hard since my parents trust me with a real shotgun and bolt action rifle.

    What if you played with Nerf and water guns?

    Well Airsoft guns seem a little dangerous so you should probably wear protection stuff or something like that and then you could use it. I don't know, you're 17 years old and you work real hard around school and your life.

    I don't know. Get paintball instead? Paintball don't even look like real weapons, though they are far away as fun as airsoft.

    Point out all the things you do for them (Cleaning, cooking, grades)
    Use that as an example of your maturity

    huehue i got an M590 spring airsoft shotgun from my cousens.They game it to me because they did not know what they could start with it.

    Middle School = Airsoft

    High school = Paintball

    College = Nerf

    Say you will play safely (if you plan on having wars with your friends) and that you will always wear eye protection. The pain all depends on the fps (feet per second) of the gun. Low fps like 80-150 don't hurt that much. As you get higher, the pain gets a little worse. I honestly don't think it's that dangerous (if you wear the safety features of course), just be careful with how you use it.

    I asked my brother to shoot me with his spring loaded pistol from around 20 feet away. Didn't hurt a bit (with clothes on). I could have caught the bullet if I wanted too. :v Maybe he was using a CO2 pistol?

    As stated above, show your parents why you are worthy to get this pistol. Promise them that if anything happens, then they can take it away immediately.

    I once was at a paintball party for my friend, and his cousin, who was on my team, saw me run out in front closer to the line of fire. I looked back at him and he saw me and recognized me. I turn around, and I fall to the ground, unable to move. He shot me 8 times in the back from 10 feet away.

    I had 5 welts on my back for 3 months.

    I legit tried to move, and I couldn't.

    And then the opposing team saw me (I was behind cover) and started shooting at me. Worst birthday party OF MAH LIFE.

    My friend just ofered me for $100 his full metal m4, 350 fps, with original charger and battery. Hopefully I will be successful. Im going to ask in a few days.

    My dad gave me two airsoft pistols when I was 7 and a paintball gun when I was 9.
    Paint a target and throw rocks at it lol

    The sad thing is that I asked my parents six years ago if I could get a nerf gun. They said no and how I do not need a nerf gun to have fun.
