Community - More like a Staff Meeting.

You can comment and create threads in any section in "Community" except for commenting in Q&A. Q&A is a section for players to ask higher staff members who have the right answer to the question. They don't want some random person giving them an unconfirmed answer. That's why it's limited to SMod+. I think it's a smart decision to keep it that way.

 

Only SMods and admins can post there so the people who are asking questions get the correct answer.

 

But there are other ''random'' members that can comment and they can answer wrong. Therefore it's only for SMod+.

 

Just imagine, all the trolls that would ruin some persons day.
I don't agree with this idea.

 

There's no point in learning something we shouldn't have to. It's perfectly fine like it is.

 

I know your not a random. In fact, you're more of the respectable members of the community. All I'm saying is people rely more on the higher staff members for a legitimate answer. I'm not saying you could t answer some if the questions asked, but there are certain questions that really only an Admin could answer.

 

I personally pretty take the Q&A responsibility upon myself, then leave ones such as Server / connection related issues to Putty.
I'd rather keep it that way, the point of the Q&A section is that the people are getting a simple, accurate answer everytime.

 

Ok let's hire someone to make a plugin so you can answer a question that's already going to be answered in less than a day.

 

Exactly. I would much rather have GreenPeas answer my question then someone I have never heard of before. That way, I know I am getting a correct and accurate answer.

 

Just answer them in a pm, but only if it's a 100% accurate answer.

 

Q/A is used to have a simple and direct question to a simple and direct answer, it isn't supposed to be a section where you can discuss.

 

That is for the individual server discussions.
And you can always ask in the shout box, in game, or just PM a mod or admin, or anybody.
The Q & A isn't necessarily the only place to ask a question, but it is probably one of the most reliable.

 

I think it's fine the way it is. I often browse through Q and A and if I see a question that I know the answer to and it hasn't been answered yet, I PM them the answer, but for the official answers in the Q and A section, we should leave it up to the professionals.

 

Look at this way, when an SMod or even any staff member gives an answer, it is more trustable then a normal member. I am not saying that every member is not trustable, heck they could have even answered the questions better. As stated before, there will always be trolls who give you the wrong answer. What is even worse is that the option for discrepancy emerges. People could give many different answers, which could easily confuse the poster. At the end of the day, the SMod will always have the final answer, which is the one to be trusted, especially by new members who are not familiar to who is trustful and not trustful.

 

I would disagree on this thread entirely. We don't need members who may not be trustworthy to go and confuse the guy asking the question with an unconfirmed or accurate answer. The S-Mods usually can get to you in less than a day (referencing from GreySwordz) and give you a detailed, accurate answer. If you really feel that urge to answer a question (like Gynamo said) just PM the user the answer. The Q&A section is in community because it is the community asking questions and seeking help. I see your point, but ours is more logical and better.
