Invisible staff

    Sometimes when i see a rule breaker, and i bring a mod on they stop. I just thought that mods should have a toggling feature to make them invisible in chat. So when it's enabled it does not say that they are online, they are invisible and they don't show up in the list of online players. I think all mods should have this feature.

    When SMODS / Admins use vanish, they cannot be seen in the list of players.
    Possibly a feature where mods cannot be seen in the list of players could be useful for them.

    Since we have trial mods now, I don't think there'll be a problem with abuse of powers so mods should have access to /vanish, but trial mods shouldn't.

    Not not vanish in the sense of no player seeing them, the idea is they dont show up in tab or have a log-in message.

    This would be really useful for mods trying to catch rule breakers because, as Gynamo mentioned, the rule breakers may stop when a mod comes on.

    I'm not sure I agree with you there.
    Giving them access to vanish from the List of players, but giving them access to turn completely invisible... I am not too sure.

    Pretty sure they do get a log in message though :/
    We could always do some kind of a anti abuse plugin so that you temporarily lose your items in war and warz, not being able to compete in party etc.

    I agree. Being invisible in TAB and when logging in can be very useful, but a full on /vanish command turning your character in-game invisible seems a little much. I'm not sure 30 moderators can be trusted with that command.

    Gynamo made the title kind of misleading, so I thought he was talking about the /vanish command.

    Well what I have seen before is a plugin/code that allows you to vanish. But when you vanish, it says <player> has left the game. Or something to indicate that you left the server, but really haven't, instead going invisible to spy on possible hackers.

    A type of vanish for SMods would be great, and a efficient way to spot and ban hackers.

    Can they fly also?
    And I am assuming Vanish also consists of removing the name from the TAB.

    But then again, there are only 3 smods and only so many servers.

    Maybe just remove staff members from player lists on tab and get rid of their joining message....

    I don't think that should be a permanent thing, one of the biggest assets of staff is the presence they are on the servers, take away their visibility and you take away their presence.
    Most people will refrain from rule-breaking when they notice a member of staff is online.

    Sometimes I see people OOM even though there is a mod on. Anyway glitching is quite rare now.
