WorldEdit is not currently packaged as a mod, I don't think.

Let me tell you another way to do it:
Step 1: Download Bukkit from http://dl.bukkit.org. Make sure you get a release compatible with your MC edition.
Step 2: Download the WorldEdit plugin from http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/worldedit.
Step 3: Create a new folder somewhere and move the Bukkit jar there.
Step 4: Create a new folder inside that folder, and name it "plugins". Put the WorldEdit jar here.
Step 5: Run the Bukkit jar. Wait for it to finish setup.
Step 6: Op yourself via the console that pops up.
Step 7: Start MC and add a server with the IP 127.0.0.1.
Step 8 (Optional): Stop the server with /stop, then replace the world folder with one of your own, then restart the Bukkit jar.
    Hope I helped.

    Thanks, but...
It is packaged as a mod, in Single Player Commands. However, I have never used that mod, and I know the installation is different. I'll try to help you if I can, but I'm not sure.

SPC is discontinued. But yes, the whole W/E was ported into it.

Ah, I see. Place the lite loader file (it should have a .lite extension or something) in your mods folder. I'm assuming you know where that is...

I have the Single Player Commands mod (outdated 1.6.2) and it comes with WorldEdit.jar which lets you use WE in singleplayer as the mod name applies. Want me to link the things
After you put the folder under .minecraft\versions, create a "bin" folder (assuming it's not already in the directory) and put WorldEdit.jar in there

    Doesn't do a thing.
The WorldEdit.jar is the server plugin, and SPC acts as a wrapper to run it in single player. Without SPC, WorldEdit.jar is completely useless.

That doesn't work either. The 'bin' folder has been deprecated since Minecraft 1.5.2.
And also, if your jar is from 1.6.2, it's not compatible with 1.7.2/1.7.4.

    I have neither :frowning:
It doesn't work that way because I still have the SPC and bin folder still works so you can put WorldEdit.jar in there, run the modded client, and use the WE cmds.
My modded jar is still on 1.6.2 but that doesn't mean it won't work, he can just switch versions with edit profile, play with worldedit, then go back to 1.7 and open the world that was edited (even though you wont be able to use the mod stuff with the new)
the modded 1.6 still works for me, don't tell me I don't know what im doing

That's my point, that version of WorldEdit is incompatible with 1.7 blocks. I also recommend against switching back and forth between 2 different versions to work on a world, as that could cause world corruptions (in rare cases, it's happened to me before).

If you really want WorldEdit for 1.7.2, follow these instructions:
Download a release of LiteLoader from the MCF thread, here.
Run the installer, and it installs LiteLoader.
Then, from the link above, download the WEWrapper LiteMod, and place it in the \.minecraft\mods folder.
    You're done.
