    As many of you know, hackers are slowly taking over the server and staff can only help so much. I'm curious for my benefit as well as others to know what recording software is the best to use with minecraft in your opinion. Which ones get the highest quality, why ones get the lowest lag, and how much they cost are all things I'm interested in knowing. Hopefully the WarZ community can help ban all the hackers out there.

    I tend to use fraps to record, Kills/Rule breakers and etc. The editor I use is Sony Vegas 12.

    Windows - Fraps
    Mac - Screen Flow

    These are the best recording softwares per operating system in my opinion. I am on a Mac, so I use screen flow.

    meh I'm ok with QuickTime if it's for hackers, I don't like screenflow cause you can't use iMovie with it

    True, but it comes with it's own editing software, so I don't have to use iMovie.

    But iMovie is the best. I only ever edit with iMovie if I can help it because it's so simple.

    Fraps it absolutely terrible for let's plays. It crashes all the time. It splits your video into a ton of different files. It doesn't compress the video for you, so you have to download handbrake. Recording with a mic is half broken, and always is extremely quite or loud. I don't know if this is just for me, but fraps has many issues.

    But if you only plan on recording hackers, you should be fine.

    I think that's just for you.
    I use Fraps and have none of these problems, but the not converting the video is intentional and the splitting the file is as well. You can toggle if it splits files or not however.

    If your computer isn't that good, than Hypercam or Bandicam would be a better option than Fraps because the software requires a lot more RAM.

    It is agreed that Fraps is one of the best recording software's out there (in my opinion), but if your PC is not the best, I would go with Camtasia Studio 8. You have the option of downloading the free trial, or buying Camtasia Studio 8. Camtasia Studio 8 is a very efficient and easy to use recording software and yet, you will hardly notice any lag spikes or FPS drops while recording with Camtasia Studio 8. The free trial lasts for 30 days, and Camtasia Studio 8 also comes with a video editor, which is very efficient, and easy to use.

    Fraps is quite good. I have used it for a time now, and works well with me. It allows you to being recording by pressing a hotkey that you have assigned to it c:

    I use Fraps. No problems with it, apart from the huge file sizes.. >_< I quite regularly delete 1TB of recordings just from WarZ. But ya...
