    Nope, you will be able to join games half way through in mc-war 2.0 which will be coming #soon™
    This has been suggested many times before.

    Although you can join games in the 2.0 update, spectating would be nice, for if you just want to chill and casually watch without playing.

    I believe they're adding a spectating feature in Minecraft 1.8. Just be patient and you'll never know if the admins will decide to add it.

    I like this feature, and it could really help players who aren't so skilled get better by watching and learning without wrecking their KDR.

    Well, you don't know that for sure. There's been a lot of changes since the test server, plenty could have changed. Plus there was no spectator mode ever planned the last time there was an update on 2.0.

    Yeah, and I'm pretty sure it allows for first-person spectating, which would be awesome.
    The only problem is people taking up server slots and not actually playing...
