    It depends on how much people are speaking. It takes 10 seconds for the last message to float off the chat, and then a new one appears. I guess Angry_Aliens was the one one who was really talking there.

    Cut it some slack Jared. The chatroom is trying it's best to notify you what map is playing while you are in the spawn.

    Usually there's a lot of people chatting and it looks nice and clean, you were probably in a lobby with not many people.
