Multiplayer Servers Mod Application:

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? - I am very active on the servers and come on the forums frequently, and I try to help people whenever possible. Unfortunately, I'm not that active on TeamSpeak, although I will occasionally get on and talk to people. Although on some days I won't play at all (due to school and other events), I try to get a slice of my time every day to get on. This may sound a little cheesy, but it's true: my goal here is to let others have the same fun experience as I have had for many months now.

Experience with Minecraft and Moderating (If you are going to list servers, provide proof)

I have played Minecraft for quite some time now, since 1.2.5, so that will be almost a year and a half of experience with this game. I at first started with Singleplayer, then finally moved to Multiplayer after I got the hang of the game. Then I discovered that many of my IRL friends that played Minecraft as well. This is when I really started to get into Moderating.
As far as Moderating goes, I have run my own server before with friends, just building structures, PvPing, and having fun in general. The server was purely vanilla though, so I can't say that I have a lot of experience with plugins. After running my own server, I looked to other servers and persisted to try and get a job as Moderator on those. I finally successfully gained Moderator on two small servers back in 1.3. The players were mostly inactive, and shut down eventually because of that. Unfortunately, I don't have proof of this. I tried and tried again until I got the privilege of being a Moderator for the MC War servers. I have enjoyed this experience, and hope to help out the WarZ servers as well now.

What do you feel that you will provide to the server?

I feel like I can bring many things to the server, as I have brought them to MC-War. I have already shown my capability of being a Mod for the MC-War servers.

First of all, I have shown this through my activity on the servers. I am active at least a hour or two a day, if that day is open of course. I make sure that the time other Mods can't fill can be covered by me. I have noticed in the lack of WarZ mods, and I want to help. On WarZ, because of the lack of moderation, there is a lot more insulting and other inappropriate behavior that you wouldn't normally see on MC-War. Because of this, I would like to help. (Not to offend the good players who are respectful and follow the rules.)

I feel like I can bring a sense of maturity to WarZ as well. Although many players are younger and may be tough to deal with, I try my best to be fair to these players. I have learned my lesson from being demoted on due to that one incident, and I never abuse anymore. I am not partial to any players whether my friend on the servers or a player who dislikes me.

Being WarZ, there is more frustration among players at dying after amassing many good items, and because of this, players get fired up. This is when the spam begins, especially with those with hack clients using the .insult hack. Even with the new anti-spam plugin, not everything can be stopped. I, as a Moderator, can help stop these behaviors. This brings me to my next point, which is hackers. I want people on the servers to have an enjoyable time, but it's hard with hackers everywhere. I will take people's reports and investigate them, and report those when needed. I have witnessed many hacks being used, and I am quite the expert now at spotting these.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player is properly dealt with?

As a MC-War mod, I have dealt with these situations before, and I ensure a couple of steps. The first thing I tell them is to get back into the map, if possible. If this cannot be done, then I tell them to type /spawn, this being fair for other players and teaching them not to go out of the map in the first place. If the player does not cooperate, I will then kick them, first informing them the reason of this action. If this problem persists too many times, I will then ban for an hour, as that is the only amount allowed as a regular MC-War Mod. I feel that this procedure is fair to the player, as they are given a chance and it's their choice to cooperate or not.

Do you realize if you are not respectful and helpful towards the players you will be demoted? -Yes, this has happened to me before, and I have learned from my mistakes and hope to show you that I am capable of such a job.
Do you know all the rules, plugins, and expectations? - Of course, I have been a mod of these servers for some time now.

1. I'll tell him to first try it again, and show me proof. If the problem continues, I'll tell him to relog, after doing /ct of course, so they won't lose their stuff if they log out. This should fix the problem.

2. Well the most sensible thing is to investigate the situation, then decide it it actually is. If so, of course I'll report to an Admin so they can track down who did it.

3. Yet another situation where you first see if it's true, then tempban the person who was threatening to DDoS if they were doing it.

 

I admit I'm not as active as I was on the old forums. I know I don't have that many posts. However, I am pretty active on Skype though...
