McBrawl Moderator Application: Parkman1221 PvP Survival.


Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? – To be honest, I consider myself very helpful in all aspects. Even though I was never a Mod on McBrawl or Multi-Player Servers, I still answered questions and helped newbies. On the forums, I try to be as active as possible and helpful at the same time. I have been using TeamSpeak now for probably a few months and I have grown to having it be my main way of speaking to teammates. Whenever I am playing the servers, I am on TeamSpeak, however, I may not be able to talk all the time.

In game, I consider myself one of the most active players on PvP Survival. To be honest, what drove me to become an actual mod is the fact that typically when I am online, the other PvP mods are not online.

Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? – Over the past years, I probably have reported about a dozen glitchers and hackers. However, sometimes the videos I have submitted are not entirely mine, because I do not have a good recording software. But when I can, I do report as many rule breakers as possible.

How old are you? – I am currently 13 years old, but I do take high school classes since I am in the advanced courses at my school.

What time zone are you in? – Eastern Standard Time.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? – I have been playing Minecraft for about three and a half years now. I got the game in the August of 2011 as a gift, and immediately I went to MPS (the old McBrawl) to play War. I was then drawn to the Factions server, McBrawl, and became one of the most well known players there. I was helpful, courteous, one of the richest and best PvPers on the server.

I now am close to PvP Survival and love the concept and the game. I also have some experience in coding as well. I have taken some summer courses on computer programming and engineering. This summer I am taking a Java coding camp that will help my knowledge of the game, and how it works.

I would say I am pretty up to date with Minecraft. Having knowing the basic coding of Minecraft, I have some background on the game. I also have studied some plugins, and how they work. I know all of the commands on PvP Survival, and I feel that I know it well enough to recite and explain how they all work to people who are in need of assistance.

What is your experience with moderating servers? – I actually have somewhat of a moderating career from my past. I was a moderator on a server called Cytocraft (will give IP if needed). I resigned because I wanted to focus moderating a different server somewhat linked to it. It is called FatalCraft and I am a staff member, and an admin on it. (Also will give IP if needed) In fact, if I can recall, chickenputty actually has been on the server, as well as other players from McBrawl. It shut down about a year ago because the owner had other things happening in his life, but it just reopened a week ago. However, it has no spawn or anything since we are just getting started. Before it was shut down, it had most of the previous Factions community and was pretty popular for just a small little server.

This is our first Hub that we had, although we later adapted into having a variation of the old McBrawl Factions spawn.

This is the second server that I was a mod in. This is the creative plot world part of it.

I was also a moderator on a pretty popular Survival Games server that was owned by a YouTuber. I held that position for about a month, and then was demoted for inactivity when I went on a vacation to Aruba.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? – I would provide constant moderating to the servers about 3 hours a day on weekdays. I stop spammers, advertisers, and glitchers. Considering I am generally one of the most active players on PvP Survival, I could say that I would be able to stop the majority of abusers online.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? – I have never used a hacked client before because I feel that it gives a really unfair advantage to actual players. I have been accused for using a hacked client before, but I was always proven innocent because it was never evidently hacking of any sort.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? – I have been banned from a server before, actually. In fact, I was banned on McBrawl for using a hacked client with Force Field on PvP Survival. However, I was appealed and unbanned because it was not hacking.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? – On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate myself 8.5. I am online the majority of the time that I can. I am online for about 10 minutes in the morning, and most of the afternoon. On weekends, I spend a lot more time on the servers.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? – Whenever I am on Minecraft, I usually and on TeamSpeak. Sometimes I am unable to talk because of complications at my house, but for the most part I am pretty active on TeamSpeak.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? – On the forums, I would consider myself generally active. I have a pretty high post count, but I believe more in quality than quantity. I have been told that I spam the forums, but it doesn’t necessarily make sense or add up so that idea was dismissed.

I am constantly helping on the forums to the best of my ability. Some threads I am unable to help just for the fact that I do not know enough about that server or topic.

What do you consider your greatest strength? – My greatest strength would probably be my ability to handle situations on the go. In other terms, I guess you can say that I handle well in the “Clutch”. I can think fast through different situations and evidently get the job done in the end.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? – My greatest weakness would probably be the fact that I cannot always record hackers when I want to. I would have to wait and contact someone who can record. That also limits my ability to first hand catch glitchers and hackers.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? – If it is their first time doing it and it is a minor offense, I would privately message the player and let him know what would happen if they were to keep abusing it.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? – If they were to do it again, depending on the extent of the offense, I would tell them to stop and give them a warning of what would happen. The player has to get the motto that they have to stop doing what they are doing.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? – If it were the third time, depending if it were minor or major, I would take proof with a screenshot or video and kick the player. If they kept doing it, the kick would last longer and longer as they keep doing it. With the proof, I would then report the player for abusing the glitch and disrespecting staff.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? – If someone were to prove me wrong, I would use it to my advantage having new insight on the topic. I would admit what I had done wrong and change to using the new information so I never make that mistake again.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? – If someone were to break a rule on the forum, I would take a screenshot for future reference, and report it for the Super-Mods and Admins. I would then message the player in a conversation to inform them to stop what they are doing and the possible consequences.

When would you lock a thread? – I would lock a thread if:

· Flame War

· Off Topic

· Spam Thread

· Requested/Topic Resolved

Anything else we should know about you? – I have some experience in other computer programming languages and soft wares. I also was a part of an engineering team that won the state competition last year. I play the piano, sports, and take advanced classes in school.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? – I would first take a screenshot of the player and where he is as well as the coordinates for future reference. I would then tell them to leave the spot/area. If they refuse to leave the area, I would then lead to kicking the player and check how they could have gotten to the place. After a thorough check of the scene, if there is no apparent way to get to it, I would report the player for using a hacked client for SMods and Admins. If there is a way to glitch to the location, I would take more proof and report it in the Map Bugs section of the forums.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? – I know all of the PvP Survival commands and plugins. I feel that I know it well enough to the point that I can explain how they work and what to do to a new player that needs assistance.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? – Yes, I do know this and I would never let this happen in any way. I have seen numerous mods on other servers abuse their power, and it just ruins the reputation and sets a bad example.

I try to be the role model for our community, and be the person for them to look up to.

Yeah, on TeamSpeak I usually am in the Swag Channel with Riot or BA55.
But I do go talk to other groups and chats sometimes.

And on the forums, I don't want to get too inactive since the Survival section isn't much of a hotspot.
