Stopping Hackers?!?

Some people like me have horrible parents. I can't even launch Phanta's client without needing to enter a triple password.

 

This would make people that are new to the server turn away because then they have to download all this crap just to play on a server that they're most likely to be DDoSed on.

 

I don't know if this is a good idea, for several reasons. First of all, macros and fastplace, probably the biggest plague to warz, were patched according to specknav. Godmoders are pretty easy to deal with. Just get a couple seconds of video, and even if you can't record them, just log out. Since you aren't damaging them, it doesn't combat tag you. So with these in mind, I have a couple things that might make this more trouble than it's worth.

1. Who would make a custom launcher that only connects to one server?
2. Why can't an experienced coder from just modifying this client to his own illegitimate configurations?
3. Wouldn't this discourage lots of new players who have to download a special application just to connect?

People complain about it but they dont even try to record xD

 

I quite frankly don't wanna have to download a new launcher, then log into it every single damn time I wanna play a different server, and I know a lot of people don't. The server would lose a lot, and I mean, a LOT of players, and it wouldn't make WarZ super unique, it'd just be like playing on a server with a gun mod.
Also, this pisses me off:

Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean they're a hacker, in fact i'd say the "hackers" based on your poll, actually have some damn sense in their heads.

 

As a general idea it would be good, the only problem is that people are so lazzy that they won't download it.

 

I understand where you're coming from for this idea but I think everyone's main concern is just having to do all the extra work just to play on the MC Brawl servers, to be honest I voted "yes" though because I feel like this could help out the whole DDoSing/hacking/Swatting/whatever else problems we have with this community. Personally I wouldn't mind waiting an extra 10 minutes of my life downloading and whatnot, just as long as I feel safer in the community.

 

Completely agreed! I mean I truly get sick of hackers myself.. But this would put down so many new players just like you have said, and I do not agree to this idea.

 

Well this isn't a bad idea but there are flaws in it.

1. It'd lead to a decrease of players because some people have blocks on their computers so they don't download things thus them not being able to download this launcher if it were made.

2. It's easier to just record said hacking and submit it to the forums.

3. This would just be wasting more time for the devs who could be working on bigger things than just coding a launcher for one of the servers.

It's not a bad idea, but the original system of finding hackers through video proof is better in my opinion.
