    McBrawl Moderator Application:

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? – Yes. This is explained in more detail in the specific sections.

Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? – I have submitted about 4-5 rule breaker reports. I am actively looking for rule breakers, so they can be reported and have action taken against them if needed.

How old are you? - I am 14 years old. People usually say I act a lot older than I am. My forum birthday is actually fake due to the fact that I don’t like putting my exact birthday up for public view. My fake birthday is within a month of my real birthday though. I personally believe that 14 years old is a good age to be a moderator.

What time zone are you in? - I am in GMT+0. I live in Ireland.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? – I first got Minecraft back in November 2011. When I first started out I didn’t know much at all. Crafting was a jumbled mess for me and I was terrified by zombies (Yes, I know they’re not scary but that was ages ago. :stuck_out_tongue:) I slowly learned how to craft, build, make redstone contraptions and how server mechanics worked.
As I started to join servers, people showed me more about Minecraft and its (almost) endless possibilities. I learned about the basic plugins and how to moderate a server when I first became a Moderator in a Tekkit Classic community. (Explained below)
Since I have had the game for well over 2 years, I am well aquainted with the game and have learned a great deal about Minecraft during that time.

I have also made several successful maps in the past using programmes such as McEdit and NBT editor. I enjoy playing Minecraft and I am always discovering new things about the game that I never knew before.

What is your experience with moderating servers? – I am currently a GM (Global Moderator) on Super Craft Brothers, (A fairly big server.) There, I am very supportive, helpful and mature. People often come to me asking questions which are always answered to the best of my ability. From this, I have gained much experience in the art of Moderating. I believe I do my job well there.
Since I have been there for near on 5 months now, I have accumulated a great deal of moderating skill. Being a Moderator on a big server that gets up to 1,000 players a day has definitely helped my maturity and improved my communication with others on a large scale.

You may be thinking: If I am Moderating there, I will not have enough time here? Well, since I usually have a fair amount of time spare, I am able to split the time evenly between the 2 servers and still do my job well.
Apart from that server I have been an Admin on a fairly good Tekkit Classic server. Sadly, the server is now closed down, but I learned a lot about how to moderating a server properly and efficiently.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? – I willdo my utmost to keep the servers rule-breaker free and provide the best service to the players of McBrawl. I will keep the community a safe and happy place that everyone, children and adults alike, can enjoy. Everyone gets on with everyone else a lot better in a fun and happy atmosphere. I believe I can help make this atmosphere grow so that everyone has fun. I am always willing to volunteer my time to help people and to answer questions to the best of my ability.

One thing I would never do is abuse my commands. I would not go around temp banning and kicking people because I felt like it or without reason.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? – I have messed about with a hacked client on a single player world a few times, just to get an idea of how they work and the things they are capable of doing. I think it is very important for a moderator to know how a hacked client works so he can recognise it easily. I have never used a hacked client on a server though, and nor am I ever likely to.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? – I have been banned from a Tekkit Classic server once. That was due to bad Moderation. A moderator was griefing my house, I said I was going to complain to the owner and then I got banned. The server didn’t last long.

However, I must admit I have the shame of being rightly banned from a server. While the server was not really popular, it tended to get 30-40 people on at a time. The reason I got banned was because I tried that age old “Planet Minecraft Server Review Permissions Testing” trick, where you pretend to be from Planet Minecraft and ask for OP to test permissions. It didn’t work.
I understand this was a very stupid move on my part and I have never done anything like it again. I had only had Minecraft a month or 2 when this happened (I was about 10-11 years old at the time) so I was new to the ways of the internet. I can assure you, something like this would never happen again.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? – I consider myself active in-game. I often enjoy playing with my friends on the servers and we all have a fun time. If someone has a question, I do my best to answer it to the best of my ability. I tend to stick to the servers with less people on. However, that is changing as I am becoming better at WarZ PvP. When I’m killed I always keep a cool head and never rage in chat. I usually like to split my time between the forums and the server. I like doing this because I am actively posting on the forums and I always have time spare to hang out with my friends on McWarZ.

However, I do understand I have not been playing WarZ as long as a lot of people, but I have learned fast and believe I can still fulfil the role of Moderator.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? – I consider myself to have a good activity on TS3. I enjoy chatting to my buddies and having a fun time. I usually like to login when I am playing ingame and whenever I have free time. I had used TS3 a bit before connecting to the McBrawl server so I already had some experience. Since I have joined, I have learned more about TS3 such as how it operates, and how things such as Push-To-Talk work. I do not always talk, mainly due to me being a bit shy when it comes to voice communication, but I almost always have my speakers active so I am always listening to the conversation that is being held in the specific group.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? – I consider myself to be very active on the forums. I check and post on the forums every day which I really enjoy doing. When I joined the forums and made my first post an Intro, I received a very warm welcome which made me stay. Since then I have been posting actively.

I have made a couple of helpful guides during my time here, such as:

Common Abbreviations and Phrases Found on McWar: https://www.brawl.com/threads/13589/

    What is: Constructive Criticism: https://www.brawl.com/threads/13145/

When posting on the forums, I try to be as helpful and as friendly as possible. Every now or then I like to make posts with a little bit of humour in them, just for a bit of fun. I try my best not to post pointless/spammy messages on the forums, as it makes the place look untidy and is plainly pointless.

What do you consider your greatest strength? – My greatest strength is probably my maturity. While I may be young, I am very mature for my age and I know how to handle situations calmly and professionally.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? – My greatest weakness is probably the fact that I sometimes have trouble answering multiple questions at once. For example, one person asks me a question, I am typing out the answer while another person asks me a question, and when I hit enter to answer the first persons question, a 3rd person asks a question.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? – I would tell them that they are breaking the rules and kindly ask them to stop what they’re doing.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? – I would give them a second warning, telling them that if they continue, action would have to be taken on them.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? – I would proceed to kick/temp-ban them for one hour (depending on the offence) and report it to a higher member of staff if needed.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? – That would depend on what I got wrong. If there was a mistake in a post/thread I made then I would say, “Thank You for pointing that out” and I would then edit the thread/post so the mistake would be fixed. If I got a fact wrong I would thank them for telling me and edit the post if needed. However, if the entire thread was based on a completely wrong fact, I would most likely delete the post/ask for it to be locked because it would be pointless to keep it up.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? – I would private message them, kindly pointing out what they did wrong and asking them not to do it in the future. If needed, I would report the offence to a higher member of staff.

When would you lock a thread? – If:

    · It was going seriously off topic.

    · The original owner had requested a lock.

    · The question had been answered.

    · A flame war was developing/had begun.

    · The thread is a duplicate.

    · It was spam.

    · It was Gravedug/Necro-posted on.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Mature, Helpful, Amusing

Anything else we should know about you? – I would like to state that I have a Skype account. I am not going to give away the name in this thread. (Although it is pretty obvious) I have Skype open almost all the time I have my computer running and I use it regularly.

Apart from English, I can also speak Irish. I am currently learning Spanish, but due to the fact that the school year is over, I will not be learning any more until September. I wouldn't call myself good at Spanish, but I can uphold a basic conversation.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? – I would kindly ask the player to get back into the map. If he refused/ignored me or couldn’t get back into the map I would kick him from the game. I would then do my best to find out how he got out of the map without going out of the map myself.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? – Yes. I have experience on moderating a server so I am acquainted with the basics. (/kick, /tempban etc,)I am currently learning the slightly more advanced plugins, such as PEX (PermissionsEX) and I am learning more about editing config files correctly.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? – Yes. I fully realise this. I will never be disrespectful and abusing my power is something I would never even think of doing. I will only use my power for moderation purposes only.

I would like to thank all members of staff for this opportunity to become a moderator.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Application: +1. This is a fairly well written application with nice details. It has all the important bullet points and doesn't fall short in anything. Grammar has very minimal errors.
Maturity: +1. You are very mature, regardless of who's on and where you are on. You also have a quality which I value when choosing a moderator, friendliness. We definitely need this, especially in a server like WarZ.
Experience: +1. You are quite experienced in moderating. Looks like you know a few things about moderating popular servers.
Teamspeak activity: +1. Though I may not see you all the time (Timezones are to blame), I can confirm you have logged in our Teamspeak servers.
Forums activity: +1. You have made quite a name for yourself after posting helpful threads and your friendliness towards members.
In-game activity: +1. I do see you every once in a while in War, but not quite sure about WarZ. This may be due to your timezones again.
Results: +1. Tuggers03, I feel you would be a great friendly moderator on a demanding server. You have quite a terribly good reputation, and I hope you get the job. All I worry is that you are safe in the times you are moderating.

    Good luck!

Tuggers, I was wondering when you'd apply! Your chances of moderator are great! You're a grata member, friend, etc., etc. Good luck!

    Good application.
    Your maturity levels are decent.
Regarding forums, I do not see you posting often in the WarZ section. If you applied for WarZ only from the need of moderators, understandable.
TeamSpeak and in-game could use some work. In-game, I do not see you often. This could be due to the difference of servers. TeamSpeak, I don't often see you. This could also stem from the fact that the TeamSpeak window is not often looked at. But I have seen you on a few times.
Post more in the WarZ section, spread your time around the servers. Get on TeamSpeak as often as possible, and do actually go into rooms and interact with them c:

Thank you for your feedback. I believe there is a 6-7 hour difference between our timezones.
I quite often go on in the evening and play WarZ with my friends, using the TeamSpeak server to communicate. As you said, the fact that you do not see me on as often may be due to timezones.
I am working on posting more in the WarZ section. Sometimes I find it hard to find threads to reply to in the WarZ section, however I am working on getting my forums activity up in that section.

Once again, thank you for your feedback.
