    I was being DDoS'ed today. Unplugging your router does nothing... All you have to do is completely unplug your modem for 15 minutes... Buying a VPN and doing all that is over the top, just proxy skype..

    Other things I'd like to recommend doing before trying any of these steps:

    • Call up your ISP, have them change your IP
    • Don't ever click on any sketchy links, people can hide IP loggers in web URLs that can be used to grab anyone's IP who clicks on the link.
    • Set your skype settings to only accept connections from people who have you added on skype, this prevents people from getting your IP address who doesn't have you added on skype.
    • USE TEAMSPEAK. A very simple one, but it's helpful and nobody can get your IP through teamspeak other than administrators of the server and they won't be doing any malicious activity.
    • Other things to do would be getting a VPN to protect your IP, invest in a dynamic router which will change your IP everytime the router is restarted, simple things like this can help ensure internet safety.
