Well I guess you're extremely lucky and unlucky at the same time. Remember, you can try to kill others who already have them.

 

Try going to nether. On the old WarZ map I always had trouble finding a barret at snow but not at nether for some reason...

 

What you are forgetting is that this map is brand knew. On severs 6-10, every MVP has atleast one Barrett in their e chest. That means when they are fighting, they just grab one off the ground from a dead MVP or grab one from their e chest. This same thing happened with the release of the old map, so patience is key.

Try looking around snow or nether. I've found 3 since the map has been out. 2 at nether and 1 in snow, good luck!

 

The rarity of the barrets haven't changed.

It may seem more difficult due to the lack of chests around the map. Try exploring all zone 6 areas, I've found several barrets already just through exploration.

 

Scrubby Grammar Nazi, I will admit HAVE NEVER EVER touched a Barret in the new map exception of one shoting some full iron with M40A3 which then had my first Barret ever in the new map. My first chest contained a d chestplate, after 1 minute I die.

on topic: just go to places you haven't been to before you might find something there.

 

Even if you don't find a barrett it's not a big deal. A m40A3 or a MSR used in a combo can still wreck full d's.

 

Apparently tier IV weapons are less rare so normally you shouldn't have a problem finding a barret.

I spent like 2 hours in the nether and snow town looking for one but never found it. Never found any diamond armor as well. Then I died. FML

Please post this in Q and A, and we've already gone through this.

I'm beginning to play war-z a lot more, but I'm still quite a noob - I won't be much help. What I do know, is what @Mario said. I don't think they changed the occurrence of any item, it was just a map/texture update.
