The middle button is used to switch items, too.

 

Gynamo, what about the people that use laptops? Is there any way to zoom in using those? I like this idea, its kind of like Optifine and zoom!

 

I like this but one thing, some people use that button to scroll from item to item, although we both may not, others might.

My laptop has a scroll, it's fine, never knew they made laptops like that though.

 

Ok, I don't think that will work without a client, as pressing down that button in normal Minecraft does not send any packets of information to the server. Basically, we couldn't make the 'Reload' key 'R', because it does not send any packets of information to the server in default Minecraft.

Anyway, if you want to zoom more just use phanta's client.

 

Even if this was possible, people using the Mac Magic Mouse (me ;-; ) couldn't do it.
Also, like tdaddy said, phanta has this available in his client

If you have your drop key set to R, then yes it will, as long as it sends packets of information to the server.

 

The only problem is that some people don't have a middle click

 

It is a great idea but like what everybody else said, some people dont have the middle button

You see, there is no way you can zoom in further than you can already without a mod.

 

Slowness decreases your fov which zooms in your vision. A higher slowness factor means higher zoom.

 

This would probably only be possible with mods, there are no real controls binded to the middle wheel.

 

There is, if you click the middle scroll in creative it will give you the block you clicked, and in survival it will go to teh block if you have it in your inventory.

BrawlerAce told me it wasn't possible, and to have higher zooms you would literally not be able to move.
Sorry, but I would have to trust Brawler more than you because he's more into the coding stuff :v

 

Well you can still increase zoom. It wouldn't be fun because the slowness would be so high, but the zoom factor would go up. Your fov keeps increasing until you reach slowness 6, but you can't move.
