According to that message, authentication is under maintenance. That means Mojang is fixing some stuff with the multiplayer session service right now.

They're down because of the h@x0r5. Not because of the new EULA.

 

Actually they are down due to Ddos because mojang decided to Enforce their EULA. So yes the EULA is to blame, as well of the Ddosers.

So that's why I was getting kicked by server lag everytime I tried to log into War. I'm glad that they're raising awareness about this, although I wish they would use a better approach instead. Still, I signed the petition because I don't want Mcbrawl to shutdown.

To those who need clarification, basically making nobody be able to gain money off minecraft, which is complete bull**** in most people's opinion, as the servers have to be shut down.

 

Mojang recently updated their EULA, and stated that they would allow no profit to be gained from their products, be it in the form of servers, special clients, or mods. Since nearly all large servers run off of donations, multiplayer would be, in effect, limited to only private servers or Minecraft Realms. The ddos attack on minecraft is a very frontal action of protest against these new terms.
