Multiplayer Servers Mod Application:

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? - Yes I am, although not as much as I'd like to be on Teamspeak (time restrictions). However, I am as active as I can be on the servers and forums. I try to spend an hour a day on the servers, and hop onto teamspeak every now and then (whenever I'm not skypeing with a friend). I have over 200 posts on the forums and am counting rapidly. However, I try not to "post hoard", and don't like to comment unless I have something to add to the discussion.

Are you at least 14 years of age? (You must be 14+) - Yes, I am.

Which server are you applying for? - I'm applying for the MC-WAR server under multiplayerservers.
How old are you? - I'm 14, to be 15 as of November.
What time zone are you in? - The time zone I'm in is GMT -5.

Experience with Minecraft and Moderating (If you are going to list servers, provide proof): I have been playing Minecraft for a year now, and know most everything about the game itself. I can tell a person anything from spawn rates to the distribution of diamond ore. As for moderating, I have been moderator on one server called skyblock.net. The server had about 400 players on at a time when I was moderator, and my main job was the read the amazingly fast scrolling chat of all 400 players in general chat as well as their private messages (looking out for advertisers, spammers, and the like). I will have proof of the moderation attached, but if any of you feel in doubt, you can hop onto the server and ask any mod or higher (most trial mods won't remember me). Proof is here.

What do you feel that you will provide to the server? If feel that I can provide my quick decision skills in time of uncertainty, speedy typing (yes, it is important), and my level-headed and cool attitude. I think that with my knowledge of the rules of the servers, I can improve the server drastically. Some of the improvements I hope to see are an end to hackers, spammers, advertisers, and all of the rest of the rule breakers. Although I understand that it's nearly impossible for one mod to make all of these changes, I will constantly be pushing for them. The fact that perfection is impossible isn't an excuse not to strive for it.


Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player is properly dealt with? I would follow the steps I always do for rule breakers.

1. Private message them asking them to either jump off of the map or do /kill, and inform them that being out of map is wrong.
2. If they continue, I would ask them the same thing in general chat.
3. If, after this step, they continue, I would issue them with a kick.
4. If the kick does not prove to be effective for some reason, or the player is being disrespectful, I would issue a 20 minute ban.
5. After this point, if the player in question is still breaking the rules, I would issue them with a permanent ban.

Other: I fell that throughout the duration of my life, I've been kind to other people. I would love the opportunity to help the server be a better place. I have seen players mention grammar here, so I think I should address that issue as well. This is by far the most pristine server I've seen in terms of grammar. I think that grammar is important in everyday communication to express thoughts well and clearly. In my opinion, the largest flaw in the internet is grammar, and I'd like to see it fixed. Not through being a Grammar Nazi or anything, but simply through guiding other players through use of the English language and helping them learn more. One final thing I'd like to add before I finish off this application is that I love the server. I didn't join the server to become mod, and I won't quit if I don't become moderator. Nowadays, this is the only server I play on, so I've noticed more and more that I'm helping people.

Do you realize if you are not respectful and helpful towards the players you will be demoted? - Yes, I realize that and hope a situation like that never befalls me.
Do you know all the rules, plugins, and expectations? - By heart.

For all you wondering, I usually play on server 5, but since I've been busy the last week, I haven't had much of a chance to go on.

 

When I try to go on server 1, I get nuked by FLUXers and usually get a kill if I'm super lucky.

 

Hmm, I did it more in response to all the bronies out there, and it's a joke. I don't feel the slightest need to kill them. It's more to respond to all of the OMGZZZ BRONIES posts out there.

Before I change my title, I'd like to tell you guys why I set it. You see, I've seen at least 4 staff members who love "My Little Pony", and have avatars reflecting that. I have nothing against "My Little Pony" or said staff members, but I thought it interesting given the "target audience" of the show. So, I decided to set a custom title that I knew they would react against, as a joke. I, however, feel no obligation or intent towards killing the staff members in question, in or out of the game.

Also, I would like to inquire as to why there seems to be a general love of longer applications. As far as I know, applications(a formal request to an authority for something) need not be heavy in length, but in detail. Boiled down, an application is a "persuasive letter" (persuading the authority to accept you as authority).

Furthermore, I would like to apologize to anyone I have offended.

 

Hmm, that's some nice criticism you got there(0% sarcasm). I checked the non public poll thing because I don't care too much about who voted which way, which I see now was a mistake. My activity level has dropped along with everyone else's since school started, but I'm doing my best to keep it up.
