Idea Giant Zombies

    Storyline Behind Their Creation
    A zombie accidentally fell into a mass of radioactive waste, which caused the HG hormone in it to multiply beyond extent. This resulted in the zombie becoming 6x the height of a normal zombie.

    While looking at the WarZ logo, I noticed that there's a giant in the background. I think it would be cool (and add more challenge) if they added giants into WarZ.
    • Only one would spawn in at a time.
    • Spawn rate would be rare to very rare, but they can spawn in flat areas of the map.
    • They would inflict their natural damage.
    • Because of how fast guns can kill in WarZ, they could have 4x the health of a giant in vanilla Minecraft.
    • Normal death loot would be 5x the loot of a normal zombie (with a 5% chance of dropping one piece of diamond gear upon death). This would encourage players to actually attempt to kill the giant.
    • Due to giants in vanilla Minecraft being so slow to the point of barely doing anything, giants should chase after you with a Speed II effect.

    Giants one-shot in normal damage.
    I don't want to be killed in full diamond to a zombie.

    If you know giants in Minecraft, they are way slower than a normal zombie chasing you. If you get too close to the giant where it can kill you, than that's your own fault. With guns in WarZ, it shouldn't be too hard to take on this behemoth.

    But one could make the same argument for normal zombies. "If you shoot it, it can't touch you." But zombies DO touch you, and they can be lethal in hordes. A single giant, if it touches you, kills you. And it has speed 3, so it's still pretty fast.

    I edited the OP so it doesn't include a speed effect. Does that make the giant too op now?

    I have walked up to giants in single player. They actually hardly ever hit you. Also, it would be quite easy to kill these things...


    I like this idea.

    If they're added into WarZ and are found to be too UP, Orange or Putty can just add a speed effect to them to buff them.

    Edit: Decided to add back the speed effect because I know for sure that they'd be way too UP.

    Here's my problems with this:
    A. How does this remotely really fit into WarZ...?
    B. Dropping diamond gear from any spot in the map? No, no way, I don't really want a fresh spawn scooping a full chest plate, no thanks.
    C. The fact remains that if you've ever seen how and where giants spawn, it's gonna cause some bugs, and they're gonna be in really, really weird spots.
    D. Just... why? What real benefit does this add to WarZ? Do we really need more zombies, let alone a giant one?

    A. A giant zombie is related to WarZ because it is a zombie that got mutated and grew to huge proportions, which fits with the idea of a zombie apocalypse. Honestly, having just one zombie can be boring. There should be more varieties of zombies that have different strengths and weaknesses.
    B.I don't think you even read the thread clearly. It's only a 5% chance of ANY type of diamond armor from dropping from the giant. That plus a rare chance of spawning = balanced.
    C.You do have a point in giants spawning in weird locations. I guess they can spawn in areas that have a flat areas. But I honestly don't see how giants spawning can cause bugs.
    D.I think that the giant should be added because it can make gameplay more varied instead of the player just OSKing a zombie with a Spas12. Currently, zombies are boring at the moment.

    P.S. The majority of the players seem to like the concept, while you happen to be the minority. :Y

    There are resource packs that allow you to have zombies that look different, but it's just a texture, not anything that impacts gameplay- and you're right, zombies are just popcorn at the moment. Which is a bad thing considering that zombies are supposed to be the main conflict, NOT bandits.

    How about spawning zombies with different status effects and equipment that has different enchants, like speed or slowness or thorns armor?

    Annoying popcorn XD I like zombies being like humans. Having armor, guns, swords, all that stuff.

    Well, you already see zombies with armor and even guns, so we do kinda have strengths and weaknesses in zombie varieties.
    I was more thinking make it more varied, and even make zombies drop what they're holding if they hold something every time (or at least more often)

    That would be nice. It'd be cool if some way the texture pack made the zombies look different. Males, females, ect.

    Like I said, there's already texture packs that do that. (Besides, I just prefer the vanilla skin)
    I was thinking more in the way of impacting gameplay.

    Well, the reason for giant zombies WAS for more variety in zombies, but all right.

    Anyways, yeah, I'm down for spawning giant zombies, but ONLY if they give good loot. I don't want the same beans and bandages and bones I get from normal zombies if I'm fighting what amounts to a miniboss.

    Pretty sure the percent chance of spawning diamond in Zone 6 is %0.01. 5% seems like a little much, yeah?

    There's under a 5% chance for a giant zombie to spawn though. So really it is a lot less than %0.01. Also, getting this isn't as simple as opening a chest.

    Alright. 5%*5%=.25% So I guess it'd be fine. Maybe make them only spawn in Zone 4+?
