Reset all clans?

One question: Will that stupid Null thing keep happening?

 

I think this would be a good idea. There are many clans that have all inactive members and some people might want to use those clan names. Take FLUX as an example. Mafiaferret wants the clan name back, but he couldn't get back that clan because he wasn't able to contact rockerboy.

 

personally i think its a great idea but i feel like clans are involved enough. I think that clan games or battles should become a major thing. Maybe a fight for certain gear or a winner takes all fight out at the least. I know one of the mods tried to do that sort of thing and i think it was a great idea based on the way people reacted because all i heard about for a week straight was whos gunna fight and whos clans are gunna battle. So i think yes but the clan system needs to be a bigger part of the community than just teamming with other.

 

Umm...this thread is about a reset. No other features are being discussed.
EDIT: Let me re-word that. If you have a suggestion, please keep the subject pertaining to how a reset should be handled differently, rather than suggesting a completely different feature.

If you have an idea for clans, post your own thread instead of insulting a mod.

 

Umm....I wasnt doing anything except telling you that this thread is only about discussing a reset. If you dislike that, then Im sorry that you took it the wrong way.

Honestly, what I think should happen, is implement a command for a week, that's something like /clan verify, that only the clan owner can do, and have an ongoing message in the broadcast saying "If you own a clan, be sure to do /clan verify, by blah blah date here, or your clan will be reset and deleted".

 

But what if you went on vacation and forgot to do /clan setowner (name of random ass billy bob joe)?

 

I think the people that actually care about their clans would make sure, it's a whole week, not a day.

 

Mafia went on vacation for like 3 months, imagine if he forgot. He would care about his clan, but still lose it.

 

Who would both forget to set a clan owner, and not be active enough to contact a staff member once they found out about this? Someone who cares about their clan? No, someone who cares would atleast check in once a week, if they hadn't set an owner.

 

He can post his opinions on how he feels clans should be redone if he chooses.

 

Well im just assuming that if they have another idea pertaining to clans it should at least be connected to some sort of alternative to doing a reset. I also assume the "it", to pertain to a reset, rather than a different feature all together. After all, this entire thread is suggestions on how a reset (or an alternative) should be handled.

This should be done differently in my opinion because if we see great clans like MKF and AsKc barely any good , we wouldn't want these hard earned clans to crumble don't we? Any besides, can you imagine all the people rushing in to steal clan names for themselves like HACK and GSG? Personally, I think we should only reset clans with no more than 90-100 members so that we can keep the greater clans but wipe out the smaller, empty ones.

 

Flux has over 100 players and the owner has been inactive for forever.
Maybe make it so that players can send a request to an admin and the admin can do some minor cleanup where its needed?

The holy 8v0 suggesting this idea, I cannot simply reject this. I think this would do more good then bad, mainly because there are very little names left that actually are interesting. Malt was only named that because we couldn't find a better name that wasn't already taken, after @ZapCrusher 's raging, I just named it Malt.

 

It took me over two hours of nonstop brainstorming to finally create my first clan, this is because all of the good names were taken by one member clans (the leaders)

Maybe put an expiration date on it? If a clan is inactive for X amount of time, their tag and name becomes open for others.

If someone decides to create a clan with the same tag or name then the old clan would be disbanded.
