Idea Care Package

So how does an individual obtain the carepackage thrower?

 

Too over powered in my opinion.

 

The items should be random. Some good loot, some crappy loot. Also, I think it should be called Care Package Marker or Care Package Flare. Thrower doesn't sound as good IMO.

I had an idea like this also and planned on typing up something much longer and more detailed than this when I got home.

Basically, there should be random supply crate drops from a airplane that flies over. (It'd be sick if a ender dragon could be retextured then made to fly over.) The chat would give warnings leading up to it, saying the coords of where it would drop. When the time would come, several chests would fall down with various loot scattered around. This would attract many people and would almost serve as a permanent mini event. It could happen every few hours or so, or even at random times. I really think players would like this because the drops could be out in the zone 1, where fights rarely happen. It would be very tactical and fun to fight in.

 

I'm sorry, what? Did you mean piece of diamond armor?

 

Too op, unrealistic and strays from the dayz theme.

I for one wouldn't mind seeing this implemented. As long as the item is rare enough, it would be pretty cool to see. Maybe a server wide message of the drop falling.

 

This seems like a great idea. However could you be more specific about where it's found and how rare they are?
Apart from that, your idea sounds like it stands a good chance of being implemented. One thing: Perhaps there could be a chance that the package would sometimes have a rare item such as: 1-2 Mtn. Dew, a piece of Diamond armour, or a compass?

 

I see it as a good idea, but it does stray away from the dayz part, random chest falling from the sky doesn't seem like it really should be part of the game. But I wouldn't mind seeing it added

 

Ideas about the servers don't all have ti be from the actual game, but they stand a better chance of being accepted if they are. If you're going to make an idea or map that is not from the game the server is based on, then it has to be as detailed and well thought-out as possible.

 

i found half diamond in one refill its ez to find diamond i am not lieng

 

^ I feel like diamond chestplates are nearly impossible to find, however boots especially and helmets seem to be a lot easier.

 

I once clutched a chestplate and pants in 1 refill along with full T4. Honestly, diamond is eZ, you just need to know, where to find it.

Also, maybe you could shuffle it?
Like:
-Tier 1-4 weapons (2-3)
-Armor pieces (Leather, Iron, Diamond)
-Food (5-12 pieces)
-Medicine
-Ammo (All kinds, 1-20 per piece)
-Extra items (hook, flint 'n' steel, etc. Would have a 15% chance to appear)

After all, boxes could be way more randomized and balanced. Like, diamond chestplate would only appear if the rest of the stuff is very bad. And also, it should be zone 5+, otherwise it would be bad. Or maybe, you could add a key card so that opening would be more challenging. Key cards could be zone 5/6. Otherwise, a supply box can not be opened. This would encourage more of a challenge.

But you might want to make it a bigger chance of finding one. We can't have a bunch of fresh spawns going to a noobtown and finding full d :/

I'd say:
-Zone 4: 10% Chance
-Zone 5: 45% Chance
-Zone 6: 75% Chance

So players would accually have to travel some ways to find these, not just go 20 blocks from their spawns and get one.

 

What about certain areas (e.g. Ceasefire, Plane crash, Industrial and Nether)?
