To stop infect camping

    I don't think there is another thread about this, i looked all over he forums and didn't find anything, but if it is another one, please lock this.

    Right now, zombies tend to get spawncamped, especially before the root gets a kill. To solve that i think we should make it like in cod. No zombies at the start. When the game starts, everyone will spread out because after 15 seconds, a random player will become infected (And stay in the same spot) This would hopefully bring a bit more excitement and skill to infected.

    Where would the infected spawn then?

    The root spawns where he is, then it will go back to normal. The root will most likely get 5-6 kills so it will start up rather quickly.

    According to Gynamo's thread, exactly where they're standing. If they were in a spot, they'd just turn into a Zombie right where they are and start killing.

    Well i'm not sure about that. I thought that after the root died, all zombies would spawn as normal, but that works too. IF this gets implemented, then maybe we can have a poll about it?

    I think there should be a short delay between the first zombie being chosen and the zombie being able to do damage.
    That way, players have a small chance to react before they get oneshotted.

    By normal, you mean the normal red spawn, correct?
    It's just a lot of infect maps don't have FFA spawns, so they would have to be created, and have to account for the number of players on the server.

    Yes, the normal red team. All spawns would be normal. And i don't think it will be that hard, all that needs to be done is for a random player to lose his equipment, swap armor, and swap team.

    No. Let me explain:
    downturn does not have FFA spawnpoints, so the new downturn_infect would need to have those spawnpoints made. And if there are not enough points where players spawn in the same place (like in countdown), the infected would have to be made not to spawn there.

    So, I think what Gynamo is saying that everybody spawns in the same place at the beginning of the round. No root zombie yet. They all run around, until 15 seconds pass. Then a random player that was standing right where he was becomes the root zombie. He doesn't spawn anywhere until he dies. He continues being the zombie right where he was standing. If he dies, then he respawns into the red spawn.

    One thing is that it should announce who is infected, and this root should get spawn protection for like 2 or 3 seconds. everyone should get protection from being infected for like 2-3 seconds so that survivors can react, and the root has a chance.

    Perhaps give the normal players the protection, in case this new root was hiding with several other players in one spot. Something short, to give survivors a little time to react.

    You totally didn't steal this from MCInfected (or the old MCInfected).
    It was almost the same, but without guns, and food that instantly heals.

    I think this is the best idea i have heard in a while, but we would need to disable emps for the root at the beginning in case they started in a player field or give a tiny grace period like previously suggested, but this still has my support.

    Or you could just do in any COD game when the enemy's spawn is camped: flip both team's spawn.

    Would only work in TDM. Imagine this in Derriese - it would be impossible to survive.
