    Don't worry. This isn't another one of those stupid threads like "who's the most skilled"? Or "who's the better player?"

    This is just a thread that's asking what do you look for in skill.

    Now, I know that there are a lot of you out there who base skill off of stats. Well, I base skill off of how well you play the game without OP guns, and raging.

    What do you all think of when someone says the word "skill"?

    I believe a person can be skilled for different reasons in mcwar. Not just for killing players with the skulls or ISO but killing players with the m16 or ak47 but skill is that nuking with those weapons without scav.

    I usually look for more than just "skill". That word only describes one aspect of a player. When I look for a "pro", I look for a player who provides a sensible image for how to act in MCBrawl.

    Let's take a "skilled" player, joey. Sorry I have to keep using him for a point like this, but despite his kills and nukes, he still didn't quite get the respect form someone like melting. That is because he was not the most mature player, and did not give the best image for the server, especially including his popularity.

    To me, someone who is "skilled" has a balanced play style (uses a variety of weapons, not just two or three), can admit a loss other than just "VBG" or calling players noobs, and sees MC-War as a server not just about getting lots of high numbers or nukes, but about having FUN shooting people with guns.

    I love the people who say nuking is best.
    Like, what if meltingangel never nuked, but he got penta 20 kill streaks?
    Would you consider him bad too?

    Someone who can use a wide variety of guns, has good sportsmanship, and is nice and humble. I see some people sticking to one gun, and one gun only. Some people, including me, try to switch it out either within a time period (MSR today, FAMAS tomorrow, etc) or between matches (M4A1 on Favela, L118A on Warsong, etc)By good sportsmanship, I mean by saying "nice shot" after your kill streak has ended, instead of raging in chat how they are a targeter/hacker/noob or how there game of 53-2 was a and I quote "VVVVVVVBG". Nice and humble means to not be so arrogant about skills.

    I find skill to be able to get good scores without relying on mini guns or skull crushers. I like to challenge myaelf by using default guns and non prestiege guns a lot. I use iso once in a while.

    Skill comes in five different forms in my opinion.

    One is 1v1s, I know some people who are really good at 1v1s but struggle with a server of 40 people.

    Another is using non-prestige guns to get good killstreaks. I try to do this occasionally, I recently succeeded in a barret+deagle and an ak-47+deagle nuke.

    The third way I define skill is just nuking. To be honest if I see a player nuke every match, I KNOW he is good, I don't care what gun he uses, or whether he buy superarmor.

    The fourth way is stats. I know a player, @shygyrules, who could give most players a nerdgasm if they do /profile, but he is not such a confident nuked because he tries to never die. And that's not at all a bad thing, that's his way of playing and I admire it.

    The fifth way is how you behave when you find out your are good. All that skill means nothing if you are boasting and rude. A very rude player who shall remain nameless once told me that this game was FAR too easy for him and he might leave soon because he was the best and it was getting boring. So I challenge him to a 1v1 and beat him 8-1. Then I watched him over the next few games and he did not nuke at all. This is an example of exactly the kind of player you should aim to not be like. Be kind. Be humble. If you have a good game, don't say VBG so it makes you look more skilled.

    If we are just looking at skill and not good sports, then i would say a skilled player is a guy who can move around the map and camp. A player who uses different guns, not just the croosbow or mini. And if you want to determine what player has the most "skill" then people would ask kdr, nuke kills etc. But i would say the best way to find out, is taking a 1v1 and the guns in my opinion should be the l118a and usp. Then you need headshot to oneshot. And it clearly takes more accuracy to hit a headshot. Thats my opinion.

    Daudzoe for the longest time had a ~2.0 KDR, and he still wrecked me most the time.
    I base skill on how well the player can kill, survive, and continue to keep those two aspects in balance. If you can nuke extremely fast, without getting killed, like melting, yes, you are skilled.

    Skill isn't stats, KDR, Kills, Deaths, and Level, are all just numbers.

    Skill for me is not depending in your level, your weapons, the clan your in...
    No, for me skill is how to use your weapon on the maps, reacting to the opposing team movements, playing as a team, knowing when to retreat, knowing when to reload but most of all as I already said is how you use your weapons. No matter what, it is your style of play that gets you kills.

    I just look for respectable players.
    I'm talking about the ones that don't say "48-2 BG".

    But I guess this is about skill, so I guess I'm not too sure.

    I'll just go with @nicolecacola for an answer.

    Skill is pretty much how you use your weapons and coordinate like choco said. It's not your level or your weapons

    The truth is, very few people in McWar are skilled.

    Pretty much most of the old War "veterans" are the skilled ones.

    Melting (he's been tagged too much :V)
    @mafiaferret
    @marcel18167

    You never see them say "noob" or "bg".

    The new McWar players are seriously disappointing. They lie about their stats (thank you /profile), boast on how good they are, and aren't even that good. Don't get me wrong, there are new players who are skilled, but very few.

    :V
