    It's crazy how the community for Minecraft has changed. I read something that reminded me of my days on a classic server. The classic servers were pretty much this: a giant plot that was a creative world. No one griefed, no boundaries either. Everyone just built their own things in harmony. Of course. There were classic mini games that came out towards the end of 2010, where trolls were found about once a week. Now we have to have plots set off where people can build because of all the trolls. What a change over 4 years.

    >Thousands of minigames.

    >Extreme competitiveness.
    >Huge servers with thousands of players.
    >Hardcore gameplay.
    >More automated server functions and commands.
    >Griefing has grown larger.
    >Trolling.

    Yep, Minecraft's not the same as it once was.

    You're an old school too? I miss the days where I knew every player on the server. I'd walk over they were and go chat with them. Good ole classic

    I'm not an old schooler, but I know what Minecraft was like back then from looking at screenshots and videos.

    D: this reminds me of my first world.... ah the glorious times... alpha was awesome and i remember it so well...
    the buildings i made.... the graphics were way different... and then there were the servers... mostly community where you know everyone and everything... (I still know a server like that :wink: ) now it is just everyone playing minigames :V
    and youtuber fans (skydoesminecraft fans i am looking at you >:V ) who act like complete fanboys and the massive amount of minigame servers... not a single youtuber plays the original mc... they download mods and play on minigame servers... and that sparks others to do the same... not a single original non-plugin/modded server..

    what happened to the minecraft community is a sad thing :/ ragers, fanboys, DDoSers etc...
    they are everywhere... and i wish that the community would return back to normal...

    a moment of silence to what happened...

    In case you were wondering, I was talking about classic, not alpha. While alpha was great, classic was better. Classic was the game you could join if you went to minecraft.net.


    It's funny, one of the biggest YouTubers who plays Minecraft (KYR-SP33DY) plays with no mods. Just a server with all of his friends. They have so much fun too.

    ah yes i know him :wink: but if you look at him and all the guys (yogscast skydoesminecraft etc)
    then you see what i mean

    anyway i see what you mean .-. both classic and alpha were great... i did not play classic that much... in fact i might have just played it 3 or 4 times :V i remember alpha better... but after that yeah mods and servers changed

    I never got to experience it. Got here right after 1.3.1 was released.
    Wait, I know of a server that has been here since 2011.
    Small,simple,nice. Everyone knows each other. The closest I can get.
