wait so even if DDoS happens on the server can't we just find the person who did it?

No. There is no way, that I know of, to trace the spammed packets back to the source.

More DDos updates and specifications on what it is and what it does.
Question: What is a "DDOS ATTACK" exactly?
Answer: "DDOS" or "Distributed Denial Of Service Attack" is basically a killswitch for a router. It wont shutdown your router but it will interfere with it's ability to correctly process data packets properly.
Question: How does a DDOS Attack work?
Answer: A DDOS Attack is Very simple. It takes the specified ip address and will ping it with information packets. If you go to "mcbrawl.com" you ping brawl with packets and brawl pings you with packets. (My understanding of internet). The DDOS attack takes thousands of packets and just spams you with them, kind of like your phone if you have 3 billion games, it just gets laggier and laggier. The DDOS attack will not cause lag, it overloads the router with pings and effectively shuts of your internet.
    Question: Are DDOS Attacks illegal?
Answer: Yes, they are very much illegal. As stated under the COMPUTER FRAUD AND ABUSE ACT OF 1986 DDos attacks are illegal and can result in up to 10 years jail sentence if caught.
Question: How do you DDos? If you're asking this, may god have mercy on you. Because I wont.
Answer: DDosing is simple, and I mean really simple. You just flood an ip with packets. If you know how to create on you can, (that info isn't in here, DUH), but it requires multiple computers (like 5 or 6). Internet booters are easy because they con send any ip ping. Homemade and free ones are for techo-nerds who should be spending time elsewhere because they have the skill...

Replay to this with any more questions you have, ill answer them the best I can.

Chickenputty already gave us 4 pages worth of security guidelines.
Brawl isn't a DDoS protection company, we're a Minecraft server.
