  2. Not really! The moon is a useless huge ball of stone orbiting the Earth.

Our moon is very important to support the Earth's balance from wobbling around like Mars. It helps keep the Earth stable on it's axis. If the moon wasn't there, the seasons will be extremely severe, and one pole will be facing the sun. Complex life organisms wouldn't be able to evolve, or possibly, life wouldn't exist on Earth at all. The oceans would possibly lack tides, and appear to be almost completely still. Without the moon, the days will be shorter, and the years will have more days.
The Earth would be spinning much faster right now with the lack of the moon, but would already had possibly tilt over to it's side like Uranus.
Scientists have finally figured out that the moon is slowing the Earth's spin by studying prehistoric life. Animals have special reactions during the full moon. If the moon ceased to exist right now, then many people wouldn't have many special myths and religions associated with the moon.
Is the moon really important to life?

    First of all...off topic.

Second, I'm no science whiz (only good with math) but I am pretty sure if there was no moon, days would be shorter, there would be no solar eclipses and there wouldn't be tidal waves and such. Also, asteroids could have hit earth more often, so that could have caused an issue with the development of life.

Before anyone asks, yes I got this on Google. Like I said, I'm no science whiz.

This thread was moved to off topic. If you are just going to talk about the solar system, put it in the off topic section.
I honestly don't know why I voted in the poll...

Really?! Whoever answered about the moon being useless is wrong! The moon isn't really useless after all. Would you like it if there where no moon?! Well, certainly no! The axis of the Earth would go into chaos if there's nothing to help the spinning Earth to balance! Remember, the Earth is like a top. It wobbles if there's nothing to support it, or the spin is very slow. If you don't get it, read the passage before answering! Argh!

Well, according to science, life wouldn't be as complicated as life right now if there's no moon. The earth would wobble like Mars. If you don't believe me, you shall read about Mars. Mars lacks the big moon to help it keep its balance.

Actually our moon is A moon for all I know you could be talking about mars's moons. BTW the earth is stabilizing the moon not the other way around and even if I am wrong the earth wouldn't shake enough to change anything.
