My Opinions on MC-War

    Be ready for this thread, this is gonna be a rant about me rambling on about stuff I don't like and should be changed (imo) about mc-war. I am pretty sure this thread will definitely get disagrees from people not liking my opinions. Please note that these are my personal opinions and will most likely not match yours, take a moment to realize that a negative rating will not make me change my mind. Let's get started.

    I will sort this through by game modes.

    TDM:

    Nothing is really wrong with TDM besides the people that use the crossbow and the minigun every single round. People just get used to them. Even if the match gets too crazy, the game will automatically end at a kill cap, I am perfectly OK with this.

    CTF:

    Oh boy, let's get started on this topic. CTF means 'capture the flag', not 'everyone is going to try and nuke because it's ctf'. (I'm looking at you, server 1!) CTF in MC-War has completely lost the point of 'capturing the flag'. Everyone just tries to nuke in ctf because it's the perfect place, the time doesn't run out, and there is no kill cap. Even if you do end up getting the flag, you end up scoring a whopping 100 xp. There should really be a bigger benefit to capturing the flag, especially since everyone is trying to nuke/kill you. To prove my point even more, in some maps, (for ex: appaloosa_ctf), the flag is right in front of the opposite teams' spawn. This makes it nearly impossible to capture the flag.

    tl;dr, in ctf, it's nearly impossible to get the flag and even if you do, you get little to no reward for it.

    FFA:

    Just the same as my TDM's opinion, nothing is really wrong here. I think the most annoying thing about ffa is the minigun's, but people learned to deal with them.

    Infect:

    This is the part of the thread that is the most hard to have an opinion about. Let me just say, you can't even talk about infect on the forums, people can't handle it. (Most of the time turn into a flame war.) As I said at the start, these are my personal opinions, I will request a lock if it gets to that point.

    I don't even know where to start with infect, there are so many things that bother me about it. Let's start simple, the ray gun. Yes, I know the ray gun is a donor item that cost a fortune, but it is simply too op. *forums explode* Not only is infect already a way to get easy xp, it gets worse with the ray gun. There are probably a minimum of 3 people to a maximum of 7 people that have a ray gun per infect. This is a fact, not a statement, it is just plain true. A lot of people have the ray gun, and it turns MC-War almost to a P2W server just for 1 gamemode (do not get P2W confused with P2P). Almost every donor weapon is good in infect.
    • Ray gun: Way too op for infect. (thank god it's getting nerfed in 2.0)
    • LAW: Easily kill-stolen by ray users, the law should have gotten a re-buff a long time ago. (for those of you new peeps, the old-old-old LAW was basically a ray gun for every gamemode)
    • Flamethrower: Not really used for infect, if used, it's often for the lolz.
    • Crossbow: Not a living soul uses the crossbow for infect.
    • Minigun: Some infect maps are good for the minigun, it depends where you use it. (ex: carrier_inf)
    Let's get in to another topic, the zombies. All the zombies have is their bare fist and speed, besides the root, it gets the jugg. perk. Now, just imagine 3-7 people shooting at you with the ray gun, not even aiming at you, and getting free, easy kills. Sounds frustrating doesn't it? At most, the root zombie can take 2-3 shots but that's basically it. All the other zombies are one shot no matter what (unless you for some reason equipped the jugg. perk). On top of that, zombies only have grenades, C4, flash bangs, tomahawks, and molotovs to their advantage. Do you know how hard it is to use those? (besides C4) Especially when 30-70 people are shooting at you, sometimes even CAMPING your spawn, I doubt they'll come in great use.

    tl:dr, infect is P2W and zombies need a buff.


    Please, as I said in the start of the thread, take a moment and realize that these are my personal opinions. If you're going to comment on this thread, try and have a sophisticated conversation about it, don't start a flame war. If you read through this congrats, you now know what I hate. If you didn't:

    tl;dr, stuff is dumb in my point of view.

    I must agree with these statements. They are pretty true. Also, you should include OITC game mode.

    also you forgot... ctf= cbow+armor on server 1 :V seriously all people do is /war buy armor and then use a cbow and jump at the same spot... like... with everyone else who does that

    I didn't cover oitc because nothing is really wrong about it, wanna add something? The worse thing about oitc imo are executioners and shooting by accident when you spawn.

    How players want to remove the kill limit on TDM to make it like CTF also shows that all everyone cares about nowadays is nuking. The point of TDM is make the other team surrender by getting your team 100 points (kills). This can be proven here on the wiki.

    Well i agree with everything with your post (besides ray getting nerfed). I see some people only on infect with rays. The zombies need speed II and resistance I. (thats what i think about infect) :bag:

    The ray was never meant to be this op. People just spam their ray gun at zombies' feet nowadays. You don't even have to aim to get kills. I think in 2.0 the ray is going to be nerfed to where you only get an explosion during contact with the actual ray. (I think, that's what I heard)

    You actually get a lot of XP if you play the objective and get kills. I think we're fine :V
    So I'm going to start off and help your case then disprove it. <3
    So to help your case, infected cannot use any tactical (molotovs and flashbangs) as they don't work. Secondly, the tomahawk damage is disabled on infect meaning it too is useless... This leaves me with C4 and Grenades... C4 and Grenades are some of the most useful items in mc-war. When playing infect, you use stealth and cover to get players. Using C4 and Grenades are used to 1. Kill a large amount of players clustered together camping 2. Get players to move 3. Distractions. Right there, your story on how C4 and Grenades are bad is destroyed. Next, the way you describe players mowing down players with 3-7 rayguns is accurate. I agree it is an overused weapon however it is good and I can't say you're a bad person for using it (Imma just take this quote "Every donation helps support the server and if you are willing to help, the server will give you a benefit"). The raygun and other donor guns are good but there are ways around each. You also forget this thing called "Cover" >.<. As these are CoD remake maps, every map does have sufficient cover. When you become good at infect, cover means life or death. Infects are suppose to use cover to get kills however the way you describe it, cover seems to be a non-existent thing. In the end, infects are highly deadly with their 1 hit kill punches, the large amount of cover around the map protects them, and their ability to use C4 and Grenades tactically allow them to get "The edge" on enemies and take out large clusters of players. I personally think infect is fine. <3

    I would like to start off by thanking you for not flaming me and talking like a normal human being. So you can't use molotovs, flashbangs or tomahawks as a zombie in infect, that leaves you with C4 and grenades. Even if you can use these as a zombie, some people can't donate making it harder for them to be a zombie. As your mini-guide said, stealth and movement are your main components when you are a zombie, but most players (especially newbies) just rush a group of people with ray guns. Eventually ending up with a score like 2-9. My point being is that we both have different opinions, you think infect is fine as it is, and I think infect should be changed. I am perfectly okay with us having different opinions of our own.

    Edit: I also learned that you cannot use molotovs, tomahawks, or flashbangs in infect as a zombie, I honestly did not know that.

    Seriously, all of this was said before.

    Capture the flag is by far one of my favorite games modes any game offers. Making capping the flag, getting the flag, or just holding the flag more benefited would be awesome.
    This is just a vague concept, but what if whenever a player caps the flag then their team gets some kind of buff for a short time. It could be a strength buff, symbolizing their ego boost of the team about to win. Other buffs could be picked to express some kind of symbolism.
    They could even make it so the opposite team gets a debuff on a flag cap. Say Nausea symbolizing the team being sick of losing. Different debuffs could be picked to express some kind of symbolism here too.
    Another idea would be for the flag carrier to get a specific buff or buffs. Depending on which buff is gained by holding the flag would make getting the flag worthwhile.
    Capture the flag will get a bit better once we get banners in 1.8. :grinning:

    I think what I suggested has not been thrown out there yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

    You guys forgot to mention how hard this is for snipers, do you know how fast of a quickscoper you need to be in order to surive these games? Yeah. This is most frustrating for guns that are difficult to use without team cover. Even the isolator takes more skill to use then a point and click raygun.
    The most distressing thing about this though is yesterday a wannabe Player tried to get into the ESU (come on it's a specialized sniping clan!) by saying he sniped with the raygun. That thing isn't a sniper, it's a point and click death machine. It would be a sniper if it was nerfed so that it was a point and click iso, that would make more sense then a super law.
