As we all know, super-mods and administrators of the forums are the only people who can edit another individual's thread. My suggestion here is to have forum members gain permission to edit a thread from the author of that thread. Why am I bringing this idea up? Because of this.
    https://www.brawl.com/threads/20811/

I may not be able to keep accumulating ideas for the McBrawl TF2 server so I will need some help along the way. People like @Credo007lv already have a good idea(s) to add onto the thread so if we were to have this implemented to our forums, more progress will be made.

Besides my TF2 server thread, I assume most of you will also need help with your posts as well so I'll let you decide if you would like this.
We should be able to give permission not to only edit the thread itself but the poll as well. Just another addition would be some punishment for "griefing" a thread but I'll let the staff think on that one because I'm not a moderator nor do I plan on being one.

    Edit-

How should we know if we have the permission to edit a thread? Anyone who gains permission will receive an alert notifying them about it and same thing goes for losing permission. Speaking of losing access to a thread, I forgot about that.

Invader suggested we should have a limited amount of forum members being able to edit a post which is why I just put on 15 for the heck of it. Putty should decide it but 15 is good enough.

    I like this idea.
It would be good to have members to be able to ''fix'' threads.
Maybe there should be a limit for how many there are? Like around 5-10 is good enough.

That would be a great idea. I can imagine that would help mods in clans to organize the OP in their clan thread.

Depends like F1r3tar said about the clans thing. I personally think we should have no more than 15 people being able to edit a thread.

    5-10 was just a suggestion.
    15 could work too.

I think that would help, because I've noticed people just look at the OP, reply, and move on. A lot less people look through every single reply before they make one, especially on threads with a lot of replies.

Giving forum members permissions to edit threads, in a couple of ways could have it's benefits. However, I doubt we will add it as it could lcause chaos.

In the example you gave above, the idea that other forum members can add ideas to posts. I would strongly recommend using Google Doc's to do this. This is a feature in which someone can create a document / Spreadsheet / Powerpoint etc and enable other people to add / edit it. All you need is a gmail account and then just open Google Drive.

ALSO : I am pretty sure this is not a default feature of Xenforo so would require an addon, which means Payment / Coding. This is really not on the top of our priority list right now.

Peas, please give a reason for this idea causing "chaos".

This would help a TON for WarZ teams if something needs to be changed and the owner of the team is away. +1

Someones adds someone to their post, said person has an argument with post owner, post gets ruined, left with me and other SMODs / Admins to resolve issue.
And that is just one of the many situations this suggestion could cause.

    Interesting.
This could be used in many ways; idea threads, clan threads, build teams.

Which is why I edited in the part where the author of the thread is able to prevent people by removing permissions to edit the thread.

I agree with peas Plus there are some members who are just trolls trying to get mod and will ruin the post for fun.

Would it not just be best where the thread owner could simply give permissions to the people, rather than everyone having permissions? This way, the owner would be able to know who edited things and so forth. It would also prevent trolls from demolishing the thread.
