    So as you guys may know in minecraft 1.8 you can change your met usrename, and I want to know if you change your username will your stats will be reset to zero. Will there be a way to save you stats and change the IGN?
    Please discuss here how brawl might change the IGN and save the users stats.

    I think you still keep the same player data, just a different username.

    It will identify you by your UUID. You will keep all of your user-data even if you change your name.

    Minecraft account aren't tracked by their username, instead they're tracked by their UUID. This means you'll keep your stats and donor items.

    They discussed removing this feature from the new update.

    Which would totally suck because c'mon look at my name. Uhhhh why?

    Each user has been assigned their own individual UUID and when you change your username your UID stays the same and all donations and stats have been linked to this UID instead of username from 1.8 and beyond.

    Remember if you change your name other people can change their name to yours.
    EX: 'specknav' changes to vankceps, than someone could take the name 'specknav'

    No, it is an option to change your username.

    Right and if nobody claimed 'specknav' you can reclaim it after 5 days.
