A few ideas

Hello! The ideas below are extracted from the Garry's Mod's Murder wikipedia, I understand MC-Brawl wishes to maintain originality from other Murder Minecraft servers, but the features would be, in my opinion, good improvements.

Spectating:
The Gary's mod allows you to freely spectate, so instead of returning to the lobby, why not stay involved with the game?
Idea 1: Same Spectation mode to MC-Party.
Idea 2: Freedom Spectation mode to go anywhere yet completely invisible without particles.
Note: To continue maintaining that players within the active game cannot converse with individuals in the lobby or spectating.

Murderer improvement ideas:
The Knife should be an instantaneous killing weapon, alike the knife in the gamemode. "When the murderer hits a person with a knife they will be instantly killed." If he wants to quickly wipe people off the map the murderer should s/he have to put effort into killing them, instead just one swift silent swipe which is a present feature in Garry's Mod.

In regards to the knife functioning as the Tomahawk idea, Garry's Mod offers this ability to catch people in parkour based spots/locations, and also makes for a fun kill, the murderer can re-collect the knife or it re-spawns after 15 seconds.

Speed, in the game the murderer can run slightly faster to catch-up with his/her victim, this could function by hovering over a specified slot maintaining an invisible item, or hovering over the sword, similar to the Minestrike gamemode.

The one hit knife feature is within the actual game-mode on Garry's Mod, and that's the point, a quick chance to type his name before death. However, I have to agree that it would be too difficult to give warning, on garry's mod there is an in-built voip, making it facile to shout their name down the mic in panic before death, plus the gun is one-hit also, so not too much of a disadvantage for the armed civilian.
