    McBrawl Moderator Application:

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? -
Forums : I am extremely active on the forums. I am extremely close to the 300 post mark (289). Even though I am not at exactly 300 posts yet, I feel that I am active enough. I am always welcoming new members and helping them find their way around. I will also help out a member with anything that I am able to do. (Example : Rendering intros for the community) I always give members tips on their creative applications and suggestions. Whenever I am on my computer, I am on the forums.

In-Game : I am also extremely active in-game. I mainly stick to the Creative, War, and WarZ servers. I answer any questions that I see in the chat. I also join in on discussions in the chat about what weapons to use, which clan has more players, etc, etc. I usually play for a few hours at a time, then take a break.

TeamSpeak : Out of the three, I am the least active on TeamSpeak. However, I feel that I have two good reasons for this. First of all, the public channels normally have trolls in them. Most of the players on the McBrawl TeamSpeak stick to private channels. The second reason why I am not very active on TeamSpeak is because of my mother. Currently, she is studying for her Nursing boards. (Final Test) I don't want to disturb her as she studies. When I am on TeamSpeak, I try to type as much as I can and be as helpful as possible. I can talk at night and once my mother has taken her boards, I will be able to talk during the day.
Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? - I have submitted 3-4 rule breakers. (Not sure on the exact number) I mainly report chat spammers and advertisers. I am also always reporting posts on the forums that I feel violate a rule.

How old are you? - I am currently 14 years old. I am extremely mature for my age. Most people think that I am around the age of 16 due to my maturity and grammar.
What time zone are you in? - I live in the Central Time Zone.
What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - I have been playing Minecraft since version 1.2.5. When I first started playing Minecraft, I had no idea what Multiplayer was and stuck to single player. I learned the basics of mining, building and setting up small redstone creations. I played Minecraft like this for a few months. Gradually, I got much better and eventually, I got bored. That was when I learned about mods. I began to install all different types of mods and I was amazed by how much they changed the game. After a while, mods got boring too. One day, I was watching a video for the TooManyItems mod. I saw a suggested video about a Minecraft server. I decided to click on it and see what it was all about. After I watched the video, I was interested in playing Minecraft with other players. Naturally, I joined the server. Over time, my server list became bigger and bigger. I became staff on quite a few servers.

I played on Minecraft servers for about a year. (I think I even played Brawl when it was called Multiplayer Servers, not sure though) Everything was going great until my account was hacked. I was very sad but I decided to take a break from Minecraft. I took about a 9 month break. When I came back, I was loaned an account by a "friend". I played on that account for about 2 months and then the friend changed the password. I decided to buy the account that I currently own, JakeXBL. Overall, I am a very experienced Minecraft player. I have been looking into learning how to code Minecraft plugins and mods recently. I plan to begin coding my first plugin relatively soon.

What is your experience with moderating servers? - I am extremely experienced when it comes to being a staff member on servers. As I said above, on my first account I was staff on quite a few servers. Most of the servers that I was staff on were extremely small. I was very immature when I first got Minecraft so I was not staff on many big servers. I will start with the servers that I have been staff on.

Crazy's Drug Server - This was a small drug server that never opened. I was going to be the Head of Staff on this server, however the owner suddenly shut down the server. http://i.imgur.com/UDNJLJK.png

SuperiorPVP - I was a PreMod on SuperiorPVP (Trial Mod). This server averaged 30+ players until a Co-Owner griefed the spawn. After this incident, the server never recovered.

Now for the servers I am currently staff on :
Minecraft Simple Gaming - Minecraft Simple Gaming (Known as MSG) is a minigame server that averages 60+ players. Being a moderator on MSG has taught me quite a lot about moderating servers. It has enhanced my moderation experience level by quite a lot. This server has tested many of my basic moderation skills, such as how to properly use /kick, /mute, /tempban and /ban. I feel that I have passed all of these tests and more with flying colors. I have never been reported for staff abuse and I have had to ban, mute and kick players before. http://i.imgur.com/PBhQTPf.png

Pixelmon Alpha - I am currently a Developer/Operator on Pixelmon Alpha. This is where my plugin skill set is put to the test. I constantly have to update the plugins and the server. I also set up new plugins and make sure the server runs smoothly. I review staff applications and interview players that pass the interview stage of the application process. I also monitor the TeamSpeak server (http://i.gyazo.com/93f09acb0b306a188231f6be0b1b8d29.png) and the Enjin site. This server has taught me a ton about plugins, Bukkit, and TeamSpeak. I am experienced in kicking/banning players from the TeamSpeak server. I also know how to make groups and I have a basic knowledge of TeamSpeak permissions. Overall, being a Developer on Pixelmon Alpha has taught me a fantastic amount of information. http://i.imgur.com/xHt1qIJ.png

    xenForo :
CosmicMods - I was a sectional moderator on CosmicMods. This taught me how to lock, edit and delete a thread. Being a moderator on this site also taught me how to manage reports. This would help me greatly since McBrawl is an xenForo site. http://i.imgur.com/OL9cpPZ.png

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - I will provide many things the community if I am promoted to moderator. First of all, I absolutely love helping people. I try to answer player's questions to the best of my ability. If I do not know the answer to their question, I will refer them to somebody who can give them an answer. If I do know the answer to their question, I will give them a detailed and easy to understand answer. If they do not understand my answer, I will rephrase my answer and keep trying until they fully understand the answer. I can also help players with anything that is/isn't related to McBrawl. Since I am extremely experienced with Minecraft mods, I can help a player install Optifine and have a much better experience on McBrawl. I can also teach players anything that I have extensive knowledge on (Ex : Rendering Skins).

I can also give players suggestions and tips on a wide variety of threads. I can review player's suggestions for the server and give them tips on things that I feel should either be added to the suggestion or deleted from the suggestion. I can also give them my opinion of the suggestion. I can also give player's tips on their staff application. Since I have a good amount of experience being staff on servers, I have quite a few helpful tips on how to make a better application. I could give these to players and hopefully help them become staff.

I am an extremely mature, kind and funny person. Therefor, I can set a good example for players. I never rage in chat and I never swear. I always use proper grammar and I am very polite. In my opinion, if a player sees a staff member acting this way, they will try to act the same. I am kind to every player, new or old. I give everyone the same respect, normal player or a staff member. I am not afraid to kick, ban or mute my friend if they are breaking a rule. I am also not afraid to report another staff member if they are breaking a rule.

Finally, I am extremely active in-game and on the forums. This is important because if a player is reportedly hacking in-game, I can spectate him and determine if he is actually breaking a rule. I can also monitor the site for any threads that violate forum rules. I can find alt accounts and monitor the Live Chat.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - Yes I have. When I first began playing on Minecraft servers, I wasn't very good at PvP. I decided that hack clients would help me become better (I was very young and immature). However, since I came back to Minecraft after my break, I only use hacked clients in single player and on private servers. The reason? Whenever a hacked client comes out with new features, I download it and test it on a single player world. I like to see exactly what the new hacks do so I can spot them in-game and take action against them. Even though I used hacked clients on my old account, I would never use one online with my new account now.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - As I stated above, I was extremely immature when I first got Minecraft. I used to rage, swear and overall be extremely immature. I was banned from about 3 servers for that behavior. However, I haven't been banned from a server since I came back from my break. I actually haven't been muted on any servers either since I came back from my break. I am extremely mature and respectful and I use proper grammar while I am playing now.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? - I am extremely active on the McBrawl servers. As stated above, I mainly play on War. However, I play on WarZ and Creative every once and a while. I would estimate that I play on the McBrawl servers for about 2 - 8 hours a day, depending on what activities I have planned for that day.
How active do you consider yourself on TS3? - My TeamSpeak activity is not the best. As I said above, I feel that I have two valid reasons for this inactivity. I can guarantee that once my mom finishes nursing school, I will be able to talk during the day. As of now, I can only talk at night and there aren't a lot of players on TS at night.
How active do you consider yourself on the forums? - Whenever I am on my computer, I am on the forums. I am always checking the recent and new posts. I always try to make my posts as detailed as possible. I also try to post on any thread that I feel posting on would be necessary.
What do you consider your greatest strength? - I would have to say that my greatest strength is my personality. I am extremely mature and kind to every player. However, I can be funny when the situation warrants it, I am always polite and I don't swear or use bad grammar.
What do you consider your greatest weakness? - My greatest weakness is my TeamSpeak activity. Even though I have two valid reasons for my activity, I still do not like the fact that I am not able to talk during most of the day. My TS situation will be improving very soon.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? - I would first give them a warning. If the transgression happened on the forums, I would reply back to the post with a warning telling them the rule that they were breaking.
How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? - If a player committed a transgression for the second time, I would give them another warning and issue them a kick. If the issue happened on the forums, I would either move them into a private TS channel or send them a private message and tell them exactly what they did wrong and how they can fix it. I would also warn them about a possible forum ban if the issue persists.
How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? - If a player commits a transgression for the third time, I would temporarily ban the player from the server (Time depends on the transgression) and report the issue to a Super Mod or an Admin. If the issue happened on the forums, I would report the profile to a Super Mod or an Admin and tell the Super Mod or Admin exactly what the profile did wrong and why they deserve a forum ban.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? - I have been proven wrong on the forum many times. Usually, I am wrong and the player that proved me wrong is right. If that is the case, I thank them for informing me that my post had incorrect information in it and I edit my post. It doesn't bother me at all to be proven wrong, I actually like it. I consider it a learning experience.
What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? - I would bring them into a private channel on TS or send them a message on the forum stating the rule that they broke and how they can avoid breaking the rule in the future. I would also report them to a Super Mod or an Admin.
When would you lock a thread? -
    • Flame War
    • Grave digging
    • Pointless Thread
    • Excessive Swearing in OP (Original Post)
    • Duplicate Post
    • Owner's Request

Describe yourself in 3 words: Mature, Polite, Smart
Anything else we should know about you? - I am a 14 year old boy and I am currently living with my mom and two French Bulldogs (Also known as miniature pigs). I currently play two sports, Basketball and Track & Field. I have gone to state 2 years in a row for Track & Field and I am considered the fastest in my grade. I only play Basketball for fun. I get straight As in school. As I'm sure you have seen from my posts, I love helping other players. I will go out of my way to help a player out.
Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? - I would firstly give the player a warning to come back inside the map. I would give them a second warning that if they didn't come back inside the map, I would issue a kick. If they didn't listen to me, I would kick them from the server. If I caught them glitching out of the map a second time, I would issue a 2 day temporary ban and report them to a Super Mod or an Admin. I would also ask them how they were getting out of the map so I could report the glitch and make sure that it gets patched.
Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? - Yes, I am extremely experienced with plugins since I am a developer on a server. I know how to configure and update plugins and I know how to work almost any plugin. If I don't know the commands for a plugin off the top of my head, I will do a little research to figure it out.
Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? - I fully understand that my powers will be taken away if I abuse my power or disrespect another player.

Please insert a Yes / No poll below.
Edit reason : Typo on the Temporary Ban time.

Hey Jake! Nice application, active on forums and in-game, and I always see you on TS3! There isn't a thing wrong with this, and I would love to see you on the staff team.

Jake, there is much I have to say. Good news, and some bad news.

Good News: Your application and in game maturity is amazing. I love that. +1
Bad News: You're not that active on war. Only level 17 from what I've seen today. http://imgur.com/sXs0tDG

Overall: Increase your In Game activity (Level 30+) and It'l be a +1. Good luck!

Thank you very much for the feedback! I actually have a reason for the low level, this is a new account and I am not the best player. My old account was level 16 (I think).

Will you have enough time to effectively moderate the MC-War servers & forums if you're soo busy as a Developer for Pikelmon Alpha?

Yes. I am much more active on the McBrawl network due to the fact that Pixelmon Alpha is becoming inactive. I will devote time out of my day to moderate the server and the forums if I am accepted. Also, if I am accepted as a moderator for McBrawl, I am planning on resigning from my position as moderator on MSG.
